too lazy to go back a page or so, so can't remember who asked about the palpitations? But yes, I've been having them regularly, getting much more frequent since i hit 38 wks. Gets quite scary at times, but having been referred to a consultant over it, he reckoned it was nothing to worry about since i get more of a quick jumping effect rather than anything that goes on for a considerable length of time.
I was supposed to go for a cardiac monitoring test before my due date, but have asked to put it off until after the birth since the monitor has to stay attached for 7 days apart from quick removal for showering. That would kind of put paid to my lazing about in the birthing pool and probably freak the midwife out about me having a home birth....so i figure i can wait a bit longer!

RE - palpitations.. I had these when I became anaemic - soon cleared up when I started taking my iron.

  • morning all, hope everyone is doing OK. Daren't post too much at the mo as all i want to do is moan. Keep getting people saying 'haven't you had it yet?' 'you're not very big for 9 months are you?' AAAAAAH.

Feeling OK. Bit achy by the end of the day and i start to think that maybe baby is on his way. Miss_be are you stilll around? Everything is getting me down at the mo - am feeling like i am completely useless. Tried driving again last night after passing my test 3 weeks ago and felt as though i couldn't do anything right - did anybody else feel like this. Not sure when i will get practice in as at the moment my bump touches the steering wheel and then i will have a new baby in the car. Just feeling useless. Sorry to moan but OH is sick of listening to me.

alison6692 - today could be the day for you then if you had a sweep. Don't tell me they are painful as i am booked in for 1 next tuesday. Apparently 50% bring on labour.
    now mum of 4!!!
  • 3kids, don't worry too much about the driving at the moment - your spatial awareness will be all over the place! I can't believe how long it takes me trying to park at the moment, and a couple of weeks ago i managed to scrape the side of the car on a sneaky bollard next to my parking space at Asda. Straight roads are fine for me :) Also struggling to get in and out of the car now, though once in, it isn't a problem, so avoiding any driving as much as possible - it's not worth the risk with lack of sleep and lack of coordination/concentration!

REally want to avoid having a sweep or any form of induction...at the moment! I'm trying the reflexology/acupressure points, though maybe not regularly enough. My friend who was due next Weds had her baby on Sunday night, so very jealous she beat me to it!!!

  • Good morning everyone. I hope everyone is doing ok.

3 kids - don't worry about your driving at the mo. You're 9 months pregnant, your brain and body are actually working at making your baby at the mo - so it's no wonder your driving isn't as it could be. After you've had your little one I'm sure you'll be breezing along, window down, kiddies in the car, singing a song and your old driving ways will be but a distant memory.

Also you it's good to moan on here. Not only does it give you a space to alleviate your moanings but it also gives the rest of us a chance to try and cheer you up and makes us feel good about being able to help you. So a double whammy of goodness coming from it.

I know how you feel about everyone saying - have you had it yet etc..... I've resorted to only texting people or not replying at all. I've been mostly housebound for the last few days as my poor little feet are too big for walking too far, so I haven't seen many people, which is good. I also don't want people telling me, - oh have you tried this, I did it and it worked for me etc. Well just to let you know that I've tried - sex, orgasms, nipple tweaking, acupressure points, acupuncture points, reflexology points, pineapple and my mums got me some prawns to try! I'm actually sure that with me, when she's ready to come then she'll come, no matter how much prodding, poking or persuading I do.

Alison6692 - Good luck to you honey. I hope it goes well for you and your little one pops out soon.

Nicci985 - how are you doing? Has your little one popped out?

For me, I can't believe how this waiting game is playing out. When I was just about 4 months and heard others getting impatient waiting for their babes to come I thought, I won't be like that, I won't get impatient, surely they come when they come. Now that I'm here, my goodness, it's so peculiar. For instance the other night I started to have contractions and I got all excited (after a weekend of being sure she was coming and she didn't) so did OH. Off I went to bed and they were still there. Then I woke up early morning and they'd gone. So now, two days later they still haven't reappeared and it feels like she's never coming out. I'm sure if we were told it takes 42 weeks before the baby comes out then I wouldn't be feeling so bad but as you are primed for 40 weeks and pop, when it doesn't happen a variety of emotions come. And then on top of that you might be early, which raises your hopes even more. Well, I'm just getting on with really. I know she'll come, but it's always on my mind - I can't get away from the fact - when is she coming???

Anyway, enough of that. I'm going to try and trundle off to Somerfields later, in the hope that jigging about might encourage something. It's quite a way (15 mins normal person walking!!) to go with club feet, in the only pair of shoes that fit. I'm sure it'll be ok. I'll just take my time.

Labour vibes to those in need and baby dust to those in need too. xxx

  • Keelykat - Good luck for your scan, I'm sure it'll all be fine. Good luck anyway though. x

Dougggie- Good luck to you too. I also don't want to have any induction thingy but if it's needed then so be it. Hopefully all your self induction techniques work out for you. It's got to be soon though, hasn't it? x
