  • Hi Coleys,
I was in the same position as you this time last year. They too made us go back a week later to make sure, I am sad to say that they were right and I had lost our baby. My OH tried to be positive but I had to tell him to stop as I felt he was affecting my preperation for the worst. I am so sorry that this is happening to you. Sending you lots of positive thoughts and hugs. Try to stay calm and rest lots. Take care of yourselves.
  • allison6692 - have you tried showering with aqueous cream - apparently this is quite effective and better than just using it as a moisturiser.

So sorry to hear your news coleys - hope this week goes quickly for you.

    Hi Coleys,

So sorry to hear your scan result. Can't say anything that hasn't already been said - I think you are right in preparing yourself. Take care and let us know how you get on. Lots of us have been through it (myself included) and although it doesn't make it any easier, we are all around to talk to if you need to.

    Hugs

Sorry to hear your news coleys.

allison6692 - I've found that putting E45 cream in the fridge and then slathering it on helps with itching. I put on far more than is necessary (I've got awful skin on my forearms at the moment, had all of the tests and the doctor's helpful response is "you're just itchy") and it seems to 'cool down' the itch a bit. I've also had some aqueous cream in the past with menthol in it (I used to suffer with very itchy, restless legs) and that helped - but I'd check with a pharmacist first as I'm not sure about use in pregnancy.

I can't believe I still have 9 weeks to go. My hips and lower back are causing me grief, mainly at night, and I feel like a beached whale, despite the fact everyone keeps telling me I'm "neat". I'm hoping for a waterbirth, so it's good to hear all of the positive reviews!

  • hi coleys i dont want to get ur hopes up but ive just read a story where a mother had some bleeding and was told she needed a d&c but she didnt go and have it done they then re-scanned her at her normal hospital and the baby was alive and the other doctor had gotten it wrong.
i dont want to give u false hope but it does happen when the baby is so tiny her baby was so small the oter doctor didnt see it.
i wish u all the best and lots of hugs xxxxx

  • Hi, well i'm up again. Can't sleep as i have a restless leg and am going for a wee every 10 minutes. Wondering how long i can last on a few short sleeps totalling about 2 hours every night. Soooooo fed up with it. Does this mean that i am going to go into labour soon? Also getting quite scared about the birth as my pain threshold is definitely not what it used to be. It is all feeling a little bit strange at the minute - like it is someone else who is going to have this baby - all a bit surreal at the mo.

alison6692 - can't imagine your cat is that demanding - wait until you are expecting number 2 and they need looking after.

  • morning all!!

3kids- poor you being up all night - i bet you are getting frustrated now- i hope your baby comes soon!!

I just wanted a bit of advice.. ive been up most of the night with pains in my belly and back, i dont think they are contractions just pains really, but they stopped around 6am this morning so i dont think i am going into labour- otherwise im sure i'd still be getting them?!
Im just not sure what they are, does anyone else get them?? as im wondering if they may mean that babys going to come soon,(i hope! only 2 weeks to go-better not go overdue  ) or that maybe hes turned around and his head is engaged, as it hurts when i sit down now, and he was back to back before... so confusing!!!!

    xx

Coleys I'm so sorry. ((hugs)) I've been through the same thing and suffered a MMC. They have to rescan as a matter of course to ensure their original diagnosis was the correct one.

With this pregnancy I was bleeding and went to A&E at 6 weeks. I was given an emergency scan by someone who clearly had no idea what they were doing. They said the 'sac' looked small for dates and could see no heartbeat. They made an appointment for me to visit the EPU a week later and the picture was completely different - there was a completely viable pregnancy, with a heartbeat and measuring correct for dates. It was a long week waiting for that scan, so I can totally appreciate how you feel. It tears your emotions apart. I am thinking of you. x

Has anyone here suffered from palpatations? I've had them since last night and it's horrible. It's like my heart is missing a beat and is happening a lot. Do you think I ought to get myself checked out tomorrow? I just wondered what on earth could be causing it.
