Hi Purplegirl,
That sounds awful but glad he's round right way. Hope all goes to plan for water birth. Have you had water birth before? I had one for my first. It wasn't planned but fantastic and would really recommend it. Keep us posted.Debt Free Wannabee No - 12510 -
Nope he is our first, we have a lovely birth centre in our area and it is so relaxed, I just love the vibe of it. It is midwife led so they focus on natural pain relief as much as possible.0

Didn't know if it was the policy but had 2 midwives. One with me and one checking temperature of water a lot, letting water out and adding hot to maintain temperature. The water itself really helps with pain/contractions, plus the gas & air! Had to lift bump out of water occassionally so they could check baby's heartbeat, other than that no interuptions or internal examinations. I thought I'd have to get out of water to deliver as that was what I'd been told when shown around labour ward but when reached pushing stage and asked if needed to get out midwives said I should stay in and that if I got out would feel very heavy and would slow me down.
I sat on a gym ball alot in the last few weeks and wonder if that helped get him in good position for birth. Might help your boy stay put!
It wasn't planned that way but was great and would recommend it to everyone. Just hoping my next will go as well.
Good luck to everybody and bumps.Debt Free Wannabee No - 12510 -
Hello again Purplegirl - I hope you are getting settled into your new home ok and that you aren't tempted to get rushed off your feet sorting things out. That's great news about your little one turning. Surely if it took that much to get him the right way round then it would take something massive to put him back into breech position. Keep sending him images of being the right way round - I've found that helped me.
Heather38 - That sounds really quite bad - your sickness. And yes, ginger probably wouldn't touch the sides! It might sound a bit fruit bat but did you ever ask your body why it made you so sick. It's only that from a hypnosis point of view you can find out by talking to your body why it's feeling sick and then deal with it. For instance, sometimes it's because your body is not used to the amount of hormones that are being pumped into it. You can speak to your body and let it know that that is happening and say that you don't need to feel so sick from it and then it can adjust. It's like imagining really. You might find hypnosis helpful for it too. Basically it's your body and you can get it to do what you want - it's just a matter of finding the right way. I hope that helps.
Well I've been munching excessively this evening. I don't know if it's greed or whether it's my body preparing. I've had OH working on the acupressure points and while I've been atweaking! (TMI?) Things feel like they are doing something but I'm not entirely sure what. I keep thinking surely I'll know as hopefully the 'surges' are quite obvious. Although I keep thinking of those girls who give birth in toilets, with only a little pain and didn't even know they were pregnant. Am I one of those people who has only mild contractions and a little pop and there's Ember! Fanciful thinking - or is it? I don't know.
I feel like we are on the edge of some major operation. As soon as labour starts the living room gets converted into a labour room with birthing pool. There's a list of things that need to be done. People have to be rung to get parents up from Devon (7 hour drive) get OH daughter over to grandparents, Midwives called etc. I keep being told that "with your first it normally takes quite a while for things to start moving" yet I think that I won't take too long. I don't know if it's my intuition telling me things will be quick or whether it's fanciful thinking again. Will my parents make it in time? Will the midwives think, she's got plenty of time and be able to get here before Ember's out? Who knows. Operation Birth is teetering to go though. When is she going to come?????????? I'm not fed up - but it is an interesting scenario to be in.
Anyway, I hope everyone else is doing well. Sending labour vibes, TTC vibes and mummy/daddy vibes too, to those who need it. xxxBaby Ember

Hi everyone, I think I may have lost the baby, and I dont know where to write my story. I will tell you and hope that someone moves it if they need to.
I went for an appointment to my docs on Thurs and told her about some slight bleeding I had on Wed night. then I lost a small amount again on Thurs morning. She did another pregnancy test as I said I have no signs of being pregnant. It was very positive. She booked me into the Early Pregnancy at the hospital for yesterday morning.
I went to the hospital and had a scan, just expecting her to say that I wasnt 12 weeks after all. She said that my bladder wasnt full enough and I needed a vaginal scan. She said to us that the baby was only 5mm and is 6 weeks and 1 day and no heartbeat. The gestation sac is 30mm. She said the baby wasnt alive anymore.
Well needless to say it was the most horrific shock I've had in a very long time. My partner was fantastic and was brilliant with me crying and being so hurt.
The nurse came and told us the options and I opted for a d & c the same day. As I was off for a drink she called me back in to tell me she had gotten some other opinions and suggests we wait a week as they only do the op if the baby is 5.9mm. Although the sac is large, I dont know if there is a glimmer of hope.
My partner is trying to be optimistic but I feel numb. I have had no more blood or pain, in fact its just white discharge at the moment. I cant find anything useful on the net, even if its to say that it more than likely a miscarriage.
Sorry for going on.0 -
Coleys...
Im so sorry to hear that, i can understand why you fell numb you are probably in shock! Sending you a huge huge xxxxxxx
I bet its awful not knowing really whats going on, the nurse shouldnt have made you wait another week! Sometimes they can be so clinical about these things, I really feel for you.
As for a glimmer of hope, well to be honest i'd try and expect the worse if i was you (not meaning to be negative- but then anything else is a bonus! and you wont be let down)
But stranger things have happened you do hear about nurses getting it wrong sometimes... so i really hope that this is the case for you... especially seeing as you have stopped bleeding now, some people do bleed at the beginning of the pregnancy with no problems.
Im glad that your partner is being supportive- you need that,
Sorry couldnt be more help, but i hope you are okay and that watever you find out in a week that you are able to cope.
xxxx
p.s i wouldnt look on net if i was you as you will see so many differenet things which are likely to confuse you- try and make an appointment with doctor/midwife maybe?0 -
Coleys, I am soo sorry to hear your news. They scan you in a week just incase you might have your dates wrong...
So sorry you have another week to wait. Big hugs my lovely x
Take Care of yourself and hubby.:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0 -
Thanks you Samantha and Alison. I think your right about expecting the worse, then if things are bad I'll be able to deal with the op and all that. Off to bed now,
thank you. xx0
