Hello all. Just to let you know Josiah Barnabas was born Tuesday 12th Feb at 9.01pm. On monday growth scan, cord doppler and heart rate all fine. Amniotic fluid had halved but they weren't overly concerned. Tuesday 6pm realised I hadn't felt him move all day (usually very active and still notice movement as I am going around.) Popped to the hospital for some monitoring. Hour and 20 min later dr looked at the traces and said baby had to come out within 30 mins or he would be dead. One night in NICU and 8 days in SCBU treating nasty infections. We came home yesterday afternoon.
Praise God we are home safe and well. Having to tube feed him because he is so tiny he doesn't have the stamina to suck from me for very long. So I feel like a milking machine I am spending so long expressing milk as well as trying to get him to feed.
Hope you are all ok. Haven't had a chance to look back over the past 10 days yet to see what has been happening. Will try and post photo later.

Doobees- I'm so very glad to hear that all is well with you and Josiah. Such a good thing you went into hospital on your intuition. Very well done you for listening. Sending you both lots of good luck and good vibes too for a speedy recovery. Also good luck with not getting overwhelmed from being a milking machine. At least you know that Josiah will be getting the best food to make him big and strong. Very best of luck to you both and your OH too. xxxBaby Ember

Im in desperate need of reassurance today, after being broody for several years and being over the moon at becoming pregnant.... my sister has rang me up today being very cold with me, saying i was being offish with her three kids yesterday. i'm now feeling really crap, the youngest has been really naughty/cheeky etc recently and ive found it hard to keep quiet when she's been jumping on her mom and sometimes slapping her.... but yesterday my patience was wearing a bit thin i admit as i was really tired. I didnt actually say anything but she must have picked up on things.
Im normally very calm, and try to ignore things as, as she said they are her kids and she'll sort any problems out...but Holly being the youngest has been getting away with a lot of things lately.
Ive been sitting here in tears, after putting the phone down. I know pregnancy hormones probably arent helping, but i feel so down now. And i ve even been wondering if having a baby is a good thing to do if im so horrible.
Someone slap me, and help me cheer up a bit. My husband thinks she's under a lot of pressure and just to leave it for a bit. Holly has just started nursery and shes admitted its odd having an empty house.
a very fed up keely.Mommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)0 -
mennie- im very sorry to hear of your loss, i hope that you manage to get through it in time. xxxx
Wondermom..... thanks for asking, we went for scan and luckily little man was okay, measuring bang on date (but with a really large head- ouch!!), the poxy midwifes had got it completely wrong- just goes to show you that them measuring your bump to determain size of baby is seriously wrong and out of date, im quite angry actually as they caused me so much worry over nothing- but just glad hes okay.
Thanks for the advice that you gave me though, and how is your twin doing in hospital? any idea when he/she will be coming home with you? - as for the DLA i'd get onto the job centre asap and ask/hassle them for advice- there must be something you are entitled to- you poor thing - i bet you really dont need the stress of money at the moment! Are you paying for hospital parking? as you may be able to get that discounted..?
3kids.... god knows how ur coping.. hope your labour starts soon- ive got 3 weeks to go and already feel like i cant wait any longer!!
Hope everyone else is okay.0 -
keeleykat...
im sure you will be fine, everyone says its completely different when its your own child- your insticts just kick in (i hope anyway!) Im the same as you and get annoyed around other peoples screaming kids- mostly this is due to hormones though, when you are a bit further gone (mine started around 32 weeks) you start to feel really protective of your bump and act all motherly with everyone- even your partner. lol!!
As for feeling down i think thats pretty normal- i have that all the time, again i think due to hormones and worrying if its all going to be okay and if your going to be a good mum.. so try not to worry...
however if you feel really down all the time then get down the doctors, as i was and have now been diagnosed with antental depression and have been put on antidepressants- joy! but im just glad i caught it before babies here. Nightmare!
take care xx0 -

thought i'd better add myself to the list, i'm 7 1/2 weeks now, and extremely knackered, feel sick all the time, but not being sick, wish i was then i might feel better!0 -
Keely - I'm sorry to hear that you've had a difficult bit with your sister. It's never nice to have someone being cold with you. I wonder if you might do better waiting for a bit and then speaking to your sister again about it. If her youngest if being naughty and taking over her mum too much then it's important to say so. Unfortunately those things are never easy to do as it means sticking your neck out. Did you actually tell your sister that was why you were off with her children? If not then she might not understand, hence being cold towards you.
Also it sounds as though you are very caring and considerate to notice that your sister is having an overwhelming time at the moment with Holly, which makes you brilliantly mummy material. Yes, it is your sisters job to sort out her own children but that doesn't mean to say you will find it easy to deal with if one of them is being difficult, especially now as you're growing your own and you care for your sister (and don't want her to be hurt).
I think what your husband says is good advice. Wait for a bit and then call again. You could explain how upset you were and that you only have her bet interests at heart, and the reason as to why you were off with her children. You could maybe ask what you should do next time if you are finding it hard seeing how Holly acts. By asking her it might get your sister to think about how you might have felt. You could also remind her that you are pregnant and dealing with your own hormones, which of course makes things more difficult. I'm sure it'll all be ok in the end. It's just a matter of getting over this initial bit. Good luck. xBaby Ember

Heather 38 - congratulations to you. I'm sorry you've got nausea. Did you know drinking ginger tea helps? Even ginger beer too. Some people have even recommended peppermint cordial too. I hope it gets better soon.Baby Ember

thanks miss_be. this is my 2nd baby and ginger never worked the 1st time, so i've not bothered this time. ihad HG and was in hospital quite a lot so am hoping to avoid that this time! i ended up with stemetil last time as well and still have some left so i may resort to that if it gets bad again. the best thing i've found is to eat little and often.0

Hi everyone,
After moving home three weeks ago we are finally back on the net :j It has been such a hassle but being preg has made the the installation men from sky and BT do loads extra for me!!
It has been a testing week to be honest. Its a long story but we had a scan at 34 weeks to check on a possible low laying placenta. It was only then that we discovered that he was breech. At my last ante-natal appointment I was told he was head down but it looks like the student mid-wife has got his head and his bum mixed up. If we hadn't been for that scan we might not have found out.
My midwife gave us two more weeks for him to move round and checked again, he was well and truly stuck bum down. I tried everything I could to get him to turn, lots of kneeling with my bum in the air (not great with awful indigestion!!!) and accupuncture. It all got him mving but there just didn't seem to be enough room for him to move all the way round. We were then booked in for another scan at 37+4 weeks to confirm he was still breech, which of course he was!!! Plus she also told us that the fluid was on the lower side of normal which meant that he didn't have much room to manouver.
My midwife then made an appointment for me to have an ECV at the hospital. I really want a natural birth, well I want to avoid a c-section as much as possible as I have M.E and I feel I will take longer to recover from the op than from labour. I was then addimited to hospital on wednesday at 37+5 weeks and told to take my bag in case labour started or the baby was in distress and they had to perform an emergency c-section.
We were at the hospital for about 4 hours in total. I was hooked up to a heart monitor to check his heart rate when we arrived. They also re-scanned to see his position. After a little while they gave me an injection to relax the muscles in my womb so that he would have room to move. I then had to lay on the bed tilted with my head down and my legs up in the air for half an hour!!!! I some how managed to fall asleep. The doctor than came in and scanned again. She explained the procedure and I signed all the forms.
The actual ECV was REALLY painful  They had all been hinting that it wasn't going to be pleasent but I couldn't believe how much it actually hurt. The doctor was really good though, and with the use of the wonderful gas and air and her servere pushing she managed to get him moved round!!! She couldn't quite believe that it had worked. I am so pleased, I knew he has been trying to move round, he just needed a bit of a helping hand.
Now I have just got to focus on him staying in the right position. I have also been having lots of twinges and strong braxton hicks which I guess were bought on by the excitement of it all.
13 days to go and we are keeping everything crossed that he stays the right way round and we can go to the local birth centre for the water birth we have been hoping for.
Sorry for such a long message but I have really missed being able to chat to other preggy ladies.0
