hi wotnext, first of all congrats on finding out you are preganant and secondly- about you not having alot of money or baby items..
well when fell pregnant we had nothing, and by going into charity shops and constantly looking on ebay for bargains- we now have everything for our baby and for our new house- and surprisingly none of its skanky its all lovely stuff- i have manged to get the whole matching set of ' i love my bear' nursery range from ebay for less then £80.00s!! now all this brought new from babies r us would have easily been over £400.00!!! :j
So just goes to show you perservere bargain hunting and you will be okay- not everything has to be new.
its more important for a baby to have a loving family than all brand new things!!! (well i think anyway!)
Also try and look up if you are entitled to any benefits or grants- every little helps and even signing up for baby clubs and getting vouchers all helps.

Hi everyone
Congratulations wotnext :T :T and welcome
SeptemberBaby- Thats great news hope you join us all again soon.
ParadiseKidd- When I had my scan, I got to see my baby they didn't go into detail like the 20 week scan where they show you the kidneys, brain etc but i did see the baby and his heart. I was only in their about five minutes if that, she really didn't say much it wasn't till I got outside and looked in my notes that it said 2 arms and 2 legs present, I dont know what your hospital is like so it may be different but when i enterered the room i asked if i could have a picture. I really didn't know what to expect but seeing him for the first time filled me with tears, it really made me emotional. I was waiting 45 mins for my appointment i really thought my bladder would burst think i may have drank too much water thoughlol, I even measured a pint out in a jug just to makesure lol at my hospital they have a water machine if you run out.
Good luck for tomorrow and dont be nervous once you see your baby you will be wishing you could sit there all day and watch them on the screen.0 -
Hi sammantham06,
I know what you mean about it been depressing sat at home, it wasn't to bad when i had the nursery and things to do but now it can be so boring, i just seem to potter from one room to the next, Thats fantastic on the 'i love my bear' range ive got the moses basket and bouncer in that range, prices can be terrible though, when you put your mind to things and listen to all the advice its amazing how much money you can save, I am so glad i found this thread it keeps me sane.0 -
hi mandy,
yep it certainly does get boring!! you do drive yourself mad!! im just trying to find uselless little things to do to stop me going mad! lol! so i see you are due 5 days before me!! thats quite close.
I love the little bear range, we have the moses basket and bouncer too, the baskets really cute with the little bears hanging down! did you get yours brand new??0 -
Its mad isn't it you end up doing the strangest things to take the boredom away. Do you know whether you are having a boy or a girl?
They are really cute arnt they i just love them, yes i got them brand new, but for a cheaper price my mum found a shop where she works and apparently they buy from babies r us in bulk and are able to sell them at a discount rate or something like that, its just a little shop tucked out of the way but its really good, so i was really pleased with them otherwise i dont think i would have got them and my mother in law bought the moses basket so that helped even more, I didn't get the cot though which is a shame, its so nice made me want to get in it lol.0 -

To all the first-timers who are bored - please make the most of it! I am 37 +1 weeks and have 3 kids off on school hols and i would love to be bored. So knackered and would love a sleep. Please take time to have long baths, leisurely walks to the shops, sit and watch tv. When you have kids and they want feeding, amusing and clearing up after then you will wish you had time to be bored. I am only jealous really.now mum of 4!!!0

My sister tells me exactly the same!she's got three kids, and when she was having the last one she was kept busy with the other two.
Apparently im making her feel broody all over again, but theres no way she can have any more...not enough space/money/time! lol.

My mum said I need a really full bladder so I'm planning on getting there early and drinking a bottle of water, instead of running around needing a wee trying to find the right place :j
Hiya
I was 14 wks 4 days when I had my first scan this time around. We could see the baby's heart beat, arms moving and the sonographer could see him or her swallowing the amniotic fluid and the bladder working. Got a couple of quite clear pictures. I took a bottle with me to the appointment, drank it in the car and in the waiting room but we were actually called in before our appointment time! My bladder was only partially filled but they could still see everything clearly. Good luck, let us know how you get on.0 -
My car seat arrived today, so going to unpack that and drool over it in a sec. And found a mothercare nappy bucket with lid for £1.50 in a charity shop this morning, along with a very nice smart black holdall bag for £2 which will be perfect for my hospital bag.
Off to put things in the bag now!2015 wins: Jan: Leeds Castle tickets; Feb: Kindle Fire, Years supply Ricola March: £50 Sports Direct voucher April: DSLR camera June: £500 Bingo July: £50 co-op voucher0
