Ooooh, the waiting must be terrible. I am also on my third, and wonder what Nov will bring. Were you early with your first two? I was with DS1, but DS2 was induced (so that doesn't count).

Way I figure it, in order to even things out, I will probably go over this time. I hope I can bear it (at the time).

Sorry not had chance to get on here for a bit. Amelie Grace was born 27th April - seems like ages ago now... so I've added myself to the birth list. Everything went fine and really fast - nearly didn't make it to hospital. But we did and she weighed in at 7lb 12 oz. Good luck to everyone expecting and due soon. X

Hi there, Please can I join this site? My partner and I have decided to start trying for our first baby. Am very scared and very excited at the same time. This is due to a number of things.

First, we are not financially ready for a child, we are both pretty rubbish at saving and we have a loan, mortgage, and both have overdrafts. We try and clear the debts but it just never happens, and I am scared of it taking years to be debt-free and then finding out I can't have a child.

I am 25 and want to be a young mum. We have had mixed reactions from people - some say that we should really have savings behind us before we start trying to give the baby the best start in life - others say just do it, you will manage because you will know that you have to. Now I have mixed reactions too, thinking "should be wait until we have money" although my partner wants to start now. I think it shouldn't really matter so long as we give this baby a lot of love and attention because I think we will be great parents - what does everyone else think?

Also, I am a bit scared of waiting in case we cannot have children, I dont want to find out when I am older to be told that we cannot conceive - a lot of people assume they get pregnant but I know a few people who have had trouble for years trying to have a baby, and I am so scared that it will take ages and I will start becoming depressed. Has anyone else gone through that?

Thanks for listening to my ramblings. I do feel so ready to be a mother, just very nervous!

my OH is low paid, I cant work, I have a 7 year old, we live in a rented house and probably have about £7000 debt between us ... oh and im 20 weeks pregnant
its far from the "right time" but just like everyone else we will manage,
we couldnt be happier and cant wait to bring another child into our family...
as long as the baby is safe, warm, clean, loved and fed... they really dont care wether you can afford the latest accessories or not.

I know all the statistics of how much a baby costs and what it will need are daunting, but you will be surprised how much on those lists are really just frivolous crap! nice if you have the money but not essential to your childs wellbeing (like swings, nappy wrappers, top of the range monitors.... top of the range anything actually lol, matching buggy footmuff and changing bag, matching nursery bedding wallpaper, border etc...)

thanks to all the freebies, offers and baby clubs we have LOADS of stuff already, and we have barely bought a thing,
i dont want the other girls to think im a snob but i dont really do second hand baby stuff (unless it was originally my daughters) and we are doing just fine, taking our time to shop, finding good deals and not splashing out in a panic...
but the mums that dont mind second hand bits get tonnes of perfectly good clothes and equipment for a lot less than the original selling price, and because babies grow out of things so fast a lot of it is as good as new,

so dont panic! it is totally do-able

Congrats marvalous, what a special day to be due on!!
It's my first to so I know how excited you are and scared as it is all new. But this is defo a great thread to ask ?s and for advice as there is many helpful people or people just there for the support!!
