What Does Everybody Think About Learning To Drive When Pregnant. Do I Have To Tell The Driving Instructor For Insurance Reasons.
Would Love Some Opinions.
Thanksnow mum of 4!!!0 -
I think it's very handy to be able to drive - especially when baby comes. What I would say though is it is quite pricey. I learnt recently and with 30 lessons, the test, theory test and apt materials it cost about £1k, plus was pretty stressful! You would have to do it intensively really otherwise if you only have one lesson a week it would take about 6 months, by which point you prob wouldn't be very comfy!! Would cost a lot at once if you did it intensively too. Hope that helps!!!0

TBH I don't think it's a great idea. Pregnancy does affect your spatial awareness and things like that, so it might make things more difficult. I know my driving has got worse since I've been pregnant
Also, when you get really big, it's quite hard to get comfortable, and I find turning very tricky (like when I'm reversing). Not a flexible young thing I once was :rotfl:
Sorry to sound so negative, I might be wrong, and I'm sure it can be done if you put your mind to it. I would most definitely tell the instructor - whether it's relevant to the insurance I don't know, but at least they'll be prepared for the weepiness and mood swings!0 -
don't think there are any insurance issues as such except that you have to be able to control the car so later in pregnancy it may not be a good idea to drive. I would mention it to your instructor though as s/he may not want to take you on with their insurance (in case you sue if anything happened to the baby). I would also mention it as some days you may feel worse than others... my head's been all over the place since I've been pregnant and I can't imagine what learning to drive would be like :rotfl:0

I definitely became an unsafe driver in the first stages of pregnancy. My concentration just wasn't anywhere near normal and I found myself driving over curbs and things, wondering what would happen if I came across anything unexpected.
Thankfully this didn't last past the first trimester and I feel much more confident and secure now. Phew.
I say go for it, and do it quickly!:wall:0 -
Looking for some advice does anyone know if i can eat hagen daas while pregnant? it does say it contains eggs however on all the websites I have found it says only to avoid soft whipped ice cream from vans or kiosks. Any help appreciated before my husband eats it all!0

I've only ever seen warnings about eating the soft-whip type of ice-cream (Mr Whippy etc). Treat yourself to that Haagen Daaz before it's all gone! You deserve it!0 -
Wondering if you lovely lumpy ladies can give me some advice? Basically I'd like to know if any of you started getting pg symptons before you missed a period, like quite a while before?
The 1st day of my last period was 2nd June which makes me due on this coming weekend. However from the end of last week my boobs have been soooo sore, my back aches on and off, I'm absolutely shattered despite sleeping like a log and I generally feel 'odd'. I do seem to have come out with a bit of a cold/sore throat which could easily account for the tiredness and my back plays up from time to time anyway but the boobs!!! They occasionally feel a bit tender a couple of days before I come on but never this early and never this bad! Thing is I know its too early to take a test so surely that means it'd be too early to feel side effects too? I'm sure I didn't have any signs at all in my previous pregnancies until a couple of weeks after I found out, but then my youngest is 5 so maybe I've just forgotten.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid? Its unlikely and it could be I'm just worried because me and hubby were talking just the other day about him going for the snip! Any words of wisdom?0 -
some women get symptoms from the day they conceive so it's quite possible that you've got pregnancy symptoms. My boobs were sore but I didn't twig that it was a pregnancy symptom until afterwards. I think you can do an early PG test from about 4 days before you're due if you want to find out now instead of waiting but they are more expensive than the regular tests.0
