I wouldn't wash everything - unless you know for sure the LO will wear them, I know so many people (and it's been said on here) who have washed everything only to find the baby is bigger than expected or outgrows things before they're worn - and once they're outta the packets and washed etc. there's no way to return them for another size!! Obvioulsy, wash anything that's a hand-me-down or you know the LO will definately wear, nice fresh clothes for a nice fresh baby :D

That is a very good thought. I would automatically have washed everything. We've been given so many hand me downs in terms of clothes we may well be able to return all clothing presents to the shop for things that are more useful!
    Baby Boy due 4/3/08

Ok. I'm 32 weeks. Baby is lying transverse so need to get him to turn. Have heard of a few ladies whose babies have decided to come early by kicking their way through the amniotic sack. I can quite see this happening to us as he has been kicking CONSTANTLY and VERY HARD for weeks.

How do I turn him while there is still space so that if he does puncture me I'm in a better position to not have C section?

  • My baby was transverse at 32 weeks. I was told to spend time on hands and knees. Scrub floors, lean over birthing ball etc. Duly did so. Now at 37 weeks and baby is breech! Off for a scan on Thursday to see what's happening.

I know this post is not in the slightest bit useful to you, but i sort of think that the baby is going to do what it wants and where it wants to be and not sure that anything we do helps that much.

Oh, and my midwife claimed they're not really that concerned until 36 weeks anyway as up until then (and even after) babies still have lots of time to turn.
  • LOL @ Choc - I've heard loads of people say they've been told to get down on their hands and knees and scrub floors etc. I think this is the design of a man (who wasn't impressed that his woman wasn't able to do so much housework) that just happens to work sometimes :D

Doobees - with loads of hand-me-downs you'll be really lucky 'cos you should be able to exchange most things and have loads of lovely clothes for each stage then!!

On another note, just with how I've been feeling as late, I took a test (they're scary things!!!) and I'm not pregnant :o a good thing for now, but hopefully when we're ttc we won't have problems! Roll on August!!!! Af is due in a day or two (boo hoo) and whilst I have no pms this month I'm sure that could be due to other things. Not sure I had any last month either and had a very scant af, so perhaps my hormones are a little off - been dealing with some stressful things as late so my body is probably just a little screwed up

Hope everyone is well today and that we've got some new babies being announced soon!!!
  • Ooh and Choc - hope the little one decides to behave and turn the right way up! I know it's tight in there - but it's not impossible. My cousin turned during labour!!!! I can't remember if this is your first - maybe they'll even give you the option of normal labour and delivery dependant on the breach position.

I always wanted to be a midwife - not sure why I never followed that desire! I still always watch all the baby programs I can watch - how sad am I!!

Not my first, my third. I'm sure there's bags of room in there for him to turn if he wants to. Normal delivery while still breech is not an option I want though - I have a terrifying mental picture of the body being out and the head being stuck *shudders*

I sort of wish i'd become a midwife too. I'm sure it's a case of the grass is greener but think it must be a fab job. The thought of retraining is too much though after I've spent years and years of my life in Uni already it seems.

  • Anyone mind if i repost one of my earlier questions as nobody replied. Thanks. Has anybody else measured small for dates. I did last time and am anxious to as to have i will measure when i have my next appointment. Are these measurements accurate anyway - does it not depend on how your baby is lying?
