  • Regarding to Sure Start Maternity grant i think someone was asking about. You can claim for it from 11 weeks before your baby is due and within 3 months of its birth. I am waiting to hear about our claim now and am anxious to know if we are going to get the payment so that i can buy my pram and a few other bits. I have bought bits as we have gone along and when buying of the internet have tried to get codes for money off/points/free delivery etc. It's amazing what you can save and it can actually be cheaper than ebay. Bought a play mat from John lewis with a code and they are selling for almost the same price that i paid on ebay.

    Welcome to all the newbies.

Someone must have given birth by now - lots of overdue ones. Good luck to you all.

Has anybody else measured small for dates. I did last time and am anxious to as to have i will measure when i have my next appointment. Are these measurements accurate anyway - does it not depend on how your baby is lying?
    now mum of 4!!!
  • I've decided to request a water birth now I'm term. I didn't think I'd be able to have one as I was expected to deliver pre-term. Has anyone experienced a water birth before?

No - but I'm thinking about it too this time round. Apparently it can be extremely helpful. If anyone has any advice that would be great. I had a C Section three babies ago, so don't know if I'd be eligible?

Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."

I wouldn't wash everything - unless you know for sure the LO will wear them, I know so many people (and it's been said on here) who have washed everything only to find the baby is bigger than expected or outgrows things before they're worn - and once they're outta the packets and washed etc. there's no way to return them for another size!! Obvioulsy, wash anything that's a hand-me-down or you know the LO will definately wear, nice fresh clothes for a nice fresh baby :D
  • Congrats, curly_em and destiny_star2006!
