  • Shelvis he is gorgeous!! He looks so stunned to have been born in that first pic! Soooo cute. Congrats to the proud parents.

I think it's weird, maybe it will change when I'm pregnant and decide the baby can stay inside or find another way out, but I don't think I fear labour (not looking forward to extreme agony at all), rather I fear a huge tear or an episiotomy and don't much like the thought of bleeding for weeks afterwards, especially whilst getting little sleep!

August seems so far away - is it really that far? It'll go pretty quickly, won't it? DH and I are just really looking forward to getting this baby-making business started! Guess we should be making the most of all the uninterrupted time we have together even before we start ttc.

[EDIT] - Shelvis you look very alert and bright for having gone through that! Crazy! Although, you can notice the eyeshaddow, lol.

Ohh, how cute, he looks lovely Shelvis.

A quick question if I may. I'm TTC, last month was our 1st month, but I've been off the pill for 5 months and eating healthily. The 1st day of my last period was 7th Dec. My cycle is normally 26 -29 days. I did a preg tast on new years eve and another on the 3rd of Jan. Both were -ve so I assumed that I wasn't pregnant. Also, I was having some period pains which I usually have a day or 2 before my period. Last night my nipples were sore even without touching them (which I've never experienced before-they felt very hot?!), that combined with the fact my period is 3 days late it suddenly dawned on me that I might be pregnant despite the earlier -ve tests. So, I got up this morning and did another preg test and its still -ve but I've still got tender nipples and no period and no period pain. What is going on? I just hope I'm not being silly and making it up in my head! Anyone else had a similar experience? Is it common to have a false -ve result when approx 4-5 weeks preggers?
    Thanks xx

Aww. Shelvis , he is soo cute, and the double of his daddy too xx
If everyone cared and nobody cried, if everyone loved and nobody lied, if everyone shared and swallowed their pride then we'd see the day when nobody died.

  • Oh wow, Shelvis, your story is almost identical to mine - the taking of blood from babies head, the MW commenting on make-up :D - only I got my epidural (after 3 attempts!).

    Alexander is adorable!

PS: very brave lady to have pics taken of yourself so soon after :rotfl:. Well done.

  • Hi All - A quick question for you if that's ok?

I have been having iregular contractions since about 2 o'clock this morning (or at least I think that's what they are). They were about 10 mins apart this morning. Then seemed to stop for a bit. Then came about 15 mins apart, and stopped again. Now I've just had 2 about 5 mins apart, but then nothing for 20 mins again  They are quite painful really - although I'm a big wuss!!
Do you think this sounds like the beginning of labour, or is it just braxton hicks or the baby positioning himself? He's been moving round loads more than normal today.

Keep thinking something's starting, but then it all stops. Has anyone else had this? My waters haven't broken, and I haven't had a show yet...

It could be. My friend who had given birth a month ago, gave birth on Friday by c-section in the end as baby turned whilst in labour, but she had contractions on Monday night and then Tuesday night and in the end went to hospital on Thursday. They used to come on and off for her, and at the 'off' times the monitors won't show tht she is having them!
