Hi not sure if this is the right forum, feel free to move me if its not....
I went to the doctors today to ask him about taking vitamin B6 whilst pregnant as my morning sickness is flooring me at the minute and he prescribed me Phenergan tablets for the nausea, what has scared me is that I also informed him that my asthma had started to get worse and could the pregnancy and asthma be connected he said yes it could be and on reading the instructions for taking these tablets its says in quite large writing do not take if suffering from asthma!!!!! as can can cause breathing problems.n
What can I do as I dont want to take these tablets now?? Did anyone take vitamin B6 whilst pregnant and did it work!!Also I am open to any suggestions for morning sickness cures as my 2 1/2 year old daughter thinks mammy is very sad....
  • Fizzy water I found helpful, Weetoes and potato cakes.

Plus plenty of rest - get OH to do as much as possible.

Don't take them. Not at least until you've had a thorough second opinion.

I've tried everything going for morning sickness (including prescription drugs) and nothing has ever really worked so don't expect these tablets to be a miracle cure anyway. The only solution I've found is to try and keep as still as you can (as it's often movement induced) and eat little and often. Even then I'm usually still sick 5-10 times a day right up to week 40. It is a pain, but unless you are losing weight or can't keep anything at all down, it's not really going to cause you any serious problems.

If you're going to take vitamin supplements, then it's probably better to take a pro-natal formulated one.

Being a veggie, I've been taking a B complex vit on top of a mum-2-be multi vit since pre-conception. I didn't have any morning sickness, just a little bit of nausea but nothing rough.
Hasn't helped my indigestion though, I've been suffering from that since I found out i was pregnant!

  • NO and I can tell you why!! My waters broke at 7am this morning!! We went up to the hospital because of the suspected breech position. They monitored me and I am less than 1cm dialated and my cervix is very very high up - I also haven't had any contractions. Well actually I have had one. At 8:40am. Nothing since.

So I am at home now playing the waiting game feeling like I have wet myself! I am due to go back into the hospital to be induced if nothing else is forthcoming st morning at 8am.

    SCARED NOW!

Morning everyone. 9 days overdue now, this is sooooo frustrating.

I am being taken into hospital this evening to start the induction process. Feel a bit in two minds about it. I really want to start labour and meet my baby (and stop being sooo uncomfortable!) but on the other hand I am a bit scared about the whole process, whether my baby will cope with the induction ok and if I will cope with the pain.
