3KIDS Sorry to hear you dont seem to be getting the help you should be, i have suffered on and off for almost 9 years now and never received any help, until i became pregnant. Even with being pregnant my GP only wanted to give me pills and send me on my way and refused point blank to refer me for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as i didnt seem to have a 'specific problem'.

At the booking in appointment with midwife i was in such a state she had to listen as there was no way we were leaving until she did, when i saw the consultant at 13 weeks i was in even more of a state and although he didnt understand any of my fears, especially the irrational ones that i just couldnt get out of my head, he asked if it would help by having regular scans.

Anyway once i returned to the midwife she decided to follow suit and see me more often. All of the appointments and scans are quite quick and rushed and i get the feeling that the people see me as a pain in the bum but i couldnt care less.

Im also worried about when the baby arrives. Could you maybe go back to the midwife/doctor/consulatant and take somebody with you to fight your corner? You can self refer yourself to a CPN, maybe you will get some joy but i would definatly take somebody with you because if i hadnt i wouldnt of got very far.

3kids i wish i had something constructive or helpful to say, but i've been reading your posts and just wish i could give you a big hug. can you talk to your midwife about how you are feeling - might they be able to give you an extra scan - if it's worrying you that much, your health is so important. i became very paranoid in early pg and my gp said she'd see if an early scan was possible - i didn't ask her to follow this up but she was certainly concerned for me so might this be an option for you?

you are all really lovely on here. And like i've send before in some of my other posts, i only ever seem to post about depressing things and moaning - so sorry everyone. As you can imagine it was a very difficult decision deciding to have another baby with my problems - am seeing midwife again in a couple of weeks and will probably end up in tears again - she is understanding but i think i do need to ask for extra help. The consultant i saw a while ago looked about 15 and was really useless to be honest.

These things are allowed to escalate, as you said ella ella ella - you have suffered for 9 years without help. Hopefully for you your pregnancy can be a turning point in getting the proper help you need.

Why is life so complicated?!!!!

Shelvis were due around the same time and I can say I only get the odd night like this, I know that is not much help but it might be worth speaking to the midwife to see if there is anything you can take or do i.e relaxation before bed

jiblets1 I know it's hard but as someone elese said try not to stress about it coz it only makes it harder. It took us 5 months and I was only working it with my periods, although I did use this as a rough guide

Very excited to finally be back on the list again!! :j I had my dating scan last week which all went well (was still really nervous though even though I'd been given a 7 week scan for reassurance!).

Am now spending my evening on ebay trying to find some clothes to wear for the next few months - am aiming to restrict my maternity wear to only 2nd hand by not going anywhere near any shops!!

You have my every sympathy. I'm suffering from sinusitus at the moment and it is horrendous. Having read up on the net that I can't take sinutab (which normally cures me instantly), I've spent 3 agonising days taking paracetomal and being utterly miserable. Can't sleep, can't cope with the kids or dh. Nice tip about the steam though, will try that. Might add a dollop of vicks into it as well.
