Hi 3KIDSNOMONEY, I wouldn't worry too much. I agree with ginvzt that Goats cheese is fairly distinctive - you wouldn't confuse it with cheddar - and I like it! Also try and remember its only a very slight risk of listeria. All the long list of food we are not meant to eat; my mum never had anything like that and ate foods that she shouldn't have by todays standards, and never got sick! Plus I just couldn't resist eating mr WHIPPY ice cream this summer, even though thats on the list of things not to eat (Nobody tell my midwife!!) and no bad affects.
I think I am still trying to decide whether or not to go into labour. Period pain went, came back at 2am this morning, went, and has now come back and is making me feel rough! Oh well, I am more than ready for eviction time and really don't want to end up being induced so... OUT, OUT, OUT baby!0 -
Got a letter from the Health Visitor this morning saying she wants to come out and meet me on Wednesday. the last time I had a baby I didn't meet the Health Visitor until after the baby was born and the midwife stopped coming. Wondering if this is a new system or if I have been "targetted" for extra support as have been off work with stress for a few weeks and they are wondering aout my ability to cope? Or maybe I'm being overly paranoid?
Has anyone had similar (especially ella as in same area)?0 -
Thanks gemmaj for your advise - can't help worrying about everything this pregnancy and really am wishing the next 3 months away so that i can see my baby and hopefully everything will be ok. Feeling very pessimistic at the moment.
Chocoholic - i spoke to my health visitor recently about a different subject and mentioned to her that i was pregnant and did she want to combine a visit to me to include whatever they do when they visit pregnant women. She said that they normally visit women pregnant with their first baby and sometimes subsequent children but not always. It may have something to do with you being off work with stress but in a way that is good as it shows that they are being extra cautious to make sure that everything is ok - it doesn't mean that they think you are not going to be able to cope.
Good luck to all those due or overdue.now mum of 4!!!0 -
Sorry about this but I am about to rant cos I don't know how much more of this I can cope with.
I just can't sleep. I am lying awake in bed at night and tossing and turning all the time. Last night I went to bed at 11pm but I was so annoyed by 12:30am I got back up and went downstairs to do some washing. Is this normal?? I was up till gone 3am doing bits and pieces and watching a bit of TV. Why is it that I can't seem to settle?? The pregnancy book seems to say insomnia at this stage is caused by anxiety but i don't feel anxious. At least not conciously. I did dream this morning that we took the baby out for a pub lunch but forgot to bring him some bottles. Luckily in my dream he was sleeping soundly all the time - good thing I think!! Perhaps I am feeling not ready I don't know? I am ready though I have bought everything and am almost packed up labour bag wise so I don't know how much more I can do.
t's getting me down not sleeping.0 -
So how long do you not conceive for before you worry that something's wrong? I'm nowhere near there yet, I've been trying for 3/4 months now, and I was on the pill before that so I am fully aware that I've probably still got lots of pill hormones in my system.
The problem is, my OH is starting to panic about his capabilities (just having a random freakout) and I'm trying to stay very calm about it.
So do I not start getting concerned until we've been trying for a year? Longer?
And having a friend who most likely conceived the VERY FIRST time they consciously tied for a baby, and a sister in law who's pregnant makes me so aware that it hasn't happened here yet. I'm starting to get over-emotional each time we try because I'm just so damn conscious of what we're aiming for. I know I'm being daft as it's early days yet, but when does it stop being early days?Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -

Who can say? With DS I wasn't trying to conceive! With DD I got pregnant the first month of trying. With my current pregnancy we started trying January 2006 and I'm not due until January 2008! (Did have a mc during that time though) I think if you are both reasonably young (under 35) they say it usually takes up to a year.
It can get frustrating though. Believe me, I did the ovulation sticks, the hips in the air afterwards etc. I know exactly how you're feeling!
They do say though that it is more likely to happen if you're not stressing about it (difficult though that may be!)0 -

Hi Choc, I havent received anything like this but will let you know if anything comes next week.
I have posted this briefly on the boards in the past so dont mind putting it here. I have suffered from Depression and Anxiety for years (still do) and am seeing a psychiatrist (sp?) and CPN during this pregnancy as well as being put at high risk of post natal depression. I also visit the midwife twice as much as i should, have extra consultant appointments and have a scan every 4 weeks for reasurrance because of my history. This was all done through the midwife at the beginning so i wouldnt worry that its about your ability to cope as im sure they would of been out to me like a flash, its probably just a new way of doing things. I love my gorgeous little girl0 -
And we must have the same midwife as im sure there is only one down there! I love my gorgeous little girl0

Hi all...it seems ages sinces i last posted ...just spent ten mins catching up on the thread,
chocoholic - my hv came b4 my baby was born too. I think it's just a new thing they do ..I don't think I've been singled out for any special visits as I haven't even had the usual ones! my midwife only came once in five days and the hv has only been once since! theres too many babies being born in my area at the mo apparently! lol
curious ...hope the feeding is going better ....our stories are so similar it's uncanny. My Archie was in SCBU so had to be tube fed and couldn't be discharged until he was getting enough milk each day to keep his blood sugar levels up. Breast feeding seems to be an alien skill to my baby and he was too big to get enough from any method other than a bottle so I've ended up having to do mixed feeding - I am currently attached to a pump trying to produce at least some of his daily milk needs but it's not getting any easier dispite hiring an electric pump! Daddy is happy though and to give him his due is taking over night feeds one night in the weekend so I guess it's not all bad!
jiblets1 - on ttc. I was off the pill for over a year before I caught! I wasn't actively trying though as I was preoccupied with a new job at the time I actually did get preggers .... in fact I'd actually given up on the idea and resigned myself to being a mum of one! 3-4 months is definately too soon to be worried I'd say altough if you are on the wrong side of 35 it's a good idea to be a bit more on the ball about it (no pun intended!)and take action sooner rather than later ... doesn't hurt to get checked out after all! Be aware that not everyone's fertile time is 14 days after their period ...each time I've got pregnant has been about 7 days after ...
3Kids - the others are right you cannot mistake goats cheese - personnally I cannot stand it! I'm sure you are fine.
ho hum ..guess I'll wobble along to the parenting board now ..time for me to complain about cs scar infection and sleepless nights rather than heartburn and piles (which r hanging on in there !)...good luck to all about to pop ...
I'll come back from time to time to see how you get on.:oMSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
ellla ella ella - I too have seen a psychiatrist but recently stopped my visits due to her just wanting to give me tablets despite being pregnant. I have OCD and depression and am on a long waiting list for cognitive therapy. I am quite worried as to how i will cope after the birth, but despite this haven't received any extra help or reassurance. You are very lucky. I would love to have extra scans because i worry constantly about this baby.now mum of 4!!!0
