  • I'm having daily chats with my bump in the bath - I keep telling him about everything he is missing out on, but he doesn't care. We've had such beautiful weather, it would be so lovely to take a newborn out for a walk on one of these sunny mild days, so I've threatened him with the idea of a month of rain if he doesn't hurry up - I might get a kick in response if I'm lucky

Hopefully things will happen for you before your sweep, but if not I didn't find having it done that bad at all to be honest and over very quickly.

I've just read that in the latest NCT magazine they suggest that sweeps are at their most effective if carried out daily for three days, so will ask the midwife about that, hopefully she is working this weekend or I'll try some DIY :rotfl:
  • :hello: Hi All

Congrats to all the new mums & welcome to all the newbies! Its been ages since I've posted so I thought I'd bring you up to date & beg someone to remind me why I ever thought this was a good idea!

As with all my previous pregnancies, I have the most awful "morning" sickness - its constant & although I've yet to actually vomit, I know that soon I'll be throwing up 10-20 times each day, with little warning! By the time I've thought "I feel REALLY sick now" its usually come up. I've thrown up in gardens, pulled in quickly & opened my car door (not always in time), in shops.... The worst was at 38 weeks in the bath - I couldn't get out on my own & (now ex) husband had decided he'd "just pop out for a swift half" without telling me AFTER I had got in the bath. He rolled in an hour later, hoisted me out of a now freezing bath, but claimed he couldn't help me clean up as the smell was making him feel ill! One of the many reasons why we are no longer married! :rolleyes2

My GP has insisted I take Avomine this time (although wouldn't give me anything previously). Anyone else had this? I'm only 7 weeks & am reluctant to take anything, but do have 2 other kids to look after & 2 jobs to hold down which would be easier if I wasn't hurling every 5 minutes...

This may all be unnecessary as I spent tuesday morning in the Early Pregnancy Unit at my hospital having a scan as I had some bleeding the previous night. They couldn't find a heartbeat, & want me back next thursday to rescan. Thankfully I haven't had any more bleeding, or any pain, but this week seems really long already..._pale_
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

Fac, you sillybilly, people are not bored with you, people miss you when you don't post! So no need to hide :naughty: - and you must keep us regularly updated.

I was very very lucky to have both my boys at 38 weeks, so I don't know what it's like to be overdue - the waiting was frustrating enough for me, and must be a million times worse for you. But as I keep saying, he will so be worth the wait. :happyhear

And OMG a whole afternoon of nipple stimulation!!! :rotfl: You lucky so and so! :p (The only nipple stimulation I get these days is administered by a two-month-old, and is hardly the same! :rotfl:)

    *hugs* Good luck! :)

Fac, for goodness sake, just give birth!!! :D

Sorry hun, the last few days are horrible, and no, there's no way you can enjoy it when you feel enormous, achy, uncomfortable and downright fed up.

I think Mother Nature planned it this way though - the fear of giving birth pales into insignificance when compared to the alternative, which is to spend ONE MORE DAY FEELING LIKE AN OVER-INFLATED BALLOON. Oops, shouty, sorry!

All I can tell you is that it's worth it....although hearing that starts to get annoying too after a while. :o

Keep your chin up - well, there's no point looking down, you can't see anything by this stage anyway! :rotfl:

    dont be worried, be grateful!
my baby occasionally gives me the week off... but im 37 weeks now and still being regularly sick (during my first pregnancy i didnt throw up once)
if your worried by anyhting then call a midwife... thats what they are for,
but if you get it into your head that the vast majority if things happening to you are normal for pregnancy then you will be ok,
if its gross, disturbing and worrying you sick... then your probably fine! :D
