because you know what to expect and how much its gonna hurt:eek: but at least its worth it at the end i'm more afraid of having a section ( dont know why)

i feel exactlly like that, and the thought of having to have an epidural sends me a bit potty!_pale_

my friends cant understand why i feel like this when i had such an quick and easy labour last time (half dose of dia-morphine due to a slight reaction in the past with a full dose, and from start to finish of labour being induced 2hrs 55mins...please dont hate me ladies!!) i think it could be the thoughts of it being longer this time round aswell as the above

Happy belated birthday, SB! :j Or should that be OB now?! ;)
  • mickeyme - definitely worse with no. 2+ knowing what is going to happen during labour - the pain! Although I am now pregnant with number 4 so it really can't have been that bad!!! Could it!!! I love this forum but can't read the birth stories in case it brings it all back to me and I spend the next 20 weeks worrying about the birth.
    now mum of 4!!!

SB - happy belated birthday! :D And good luck for the sweep! ;)
  • What is most worrying is that even though this baby was planned and we have waited two years (2 mc's in that time), and I am pleased about about it I'm not especially excited or wanting to plan / buy things for the baby like I was with my first two.

I feel like that too. It's only recently I have begun to feel a bit excited. I have finally bought something for the baby now. I bought some girly clothes (we have two boys already) but even seeing little dresses isn't making me get all excited. I have no nappies in, or a moses basket, or a baby bath. I think maybe I am just being kept busier this time round with the other two? I'm hoping excitement will kick in before she is born!

Thanks for the info about baby being engaged. I had a little panic yesterday when MW told me she was engaged. 34 weeks pg is far too early to have a baby!!!
Proud to be dealing with my debts
  • mickeyme - I was definitely more worried about having number 2. I had a bad time with my first, and started experiencing panic attacks for the last month of my second pregnancy. MW said it was because I was terrified!!! The second birth went brilliant and here I am again ready for number three. I have not really given labour much thought yet, think I'm putting it to the back of my mind as my hospital do not have gas and air

    congrats Kzlnd!

Can i just ask the women who are pregnant with baby 2 + if they feel more nervous this time than they did 1st time?

I've been more relaxed about everything this time, not nervous. Just want to be in and out of hospital as soon as possible, don't want to have to stay in, want to come home asap to get on with everything, without hospital nurses fondling my boobs all the time  (had a problem breast feeding !)
First labour was 14 hours and was quite hard, but that hasn't put me off at all, i'm sure it'll be alot quicker this time - fingers crossed !!
  • sorry we forgot your birthday SB (OB)
but you know the collective memories on this thread are shot to bits! :)

Spookily my bump has dropped considerably today.. must've happened overnight! Good to see you back by the way CG.. was worried about you :o

Happy Belated Birthday SB.. hope the sweep this afternoon has kicked things off for you... and sending labour vibes to everyone else who needs/wants them.

I was definitely more nervous second time round and feel just as nervous this time round..... I'm worrying about what will be different, will I have a quicker labour than last time or longer, will everything be ok.. you know, the usual irrational moments of panic that are (hopefully) normal! :D

I have been exhausted these past few days and I'm struggling to do absolutely everything (well, thats what it feels like) don't even mention putting shoes on and shaving legs.. these things are an impossibility!! Ah well 5 weeks and counting, but my tummy feels so tight already I don't see how baby can get any bigger without causing serious damage!!

Had great fun this week washing and ironing baby's clothes.. I'd forgotten just how tiny and cute these things are! :rotfl:
    :j Ellie (Eleanor) Sophie arrived 10 days late on 19th November at 8.21am. 9lbs 1 oz :j
