    Hi all,

Been to my 1st midwife appointment,it was an hour of form filling in,blood taking & having the midwife explain what's what.
My blood pressure's a bit low but this can be common in early pregnancy apparently.
I was given loads of leaflets,a book from the NHS on pregnancy & of course Bounty stuff. Went to Asda after to collect my Bounty pack, you get some good freebies & if you collect from Asda there's a free £5.00 voucher for George (sure that will come in handy for babygrows!)
Did any of you get the voucher from the Bounty email (Morrisons this time) Lot's of free stuff & loads of money off vouchers too!:T
Our 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!

Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:
  • Hi this is my first ever post. Just literally found out that I am preganant. So don't even know the due date!

Mine feels like a fish too Septemberbaby!! I know people said butterflies which I felt about 16/17 weeks, but now it feels heavier. I am 18 weeks now and sometimes it feels like when you are on a big dipper or something! I guess that it must be changing it's position. I think Valentines string twanging is a good description!!

    And I'm feeling nothing :(
Thank goodness it's my 20wk scan tomorrow :j :j :j as am at the stage of doubt again. It used to be an excuse to see the baby, but now I'm winding myself up that it might not all be okay . Never mind, I'll know in 27 hours!

Becky_sleaf, I loved getting all the stuff from the MW - is your preg book purple/green? Its supposed to be given to all first-time-mum-to-be's but I know a few who never got it! My MW gave me a Bounty bag at my booking in appointment and I also had the voucher from the 'wallet' pack to collect another one from Asda. I bought a lovely little outfit courtesy of the £5 coupon! Plus, the MW from my antenatal class gave me one so that makes three! :o

Of course, I have also collected the Family Essentials pack from Morrisons (plus I took DH with me so he got one too!). The voucher is also on the Freebies Board as I never received the email but had no problems using it.

(Honestly, I'm not usually so greedy! ;) )

Congratulations, Claire!!! How are you feeling? There are lots of pregnancy calendars to help you calculate (I use the BBC one still for a daily update!). Lots of best wishes x

Minskerella, I was deperate to start feeling the babe 'properly'! The 'twang' is a good one to describe - I was having a hard time trying to explain what I felt! It really took me by surprise but I suppose I had better get used to it!

EDIT: Good luck, Agutka. I was exactly the same last week and was a nervous wreck going in for my 20w scan. Thankfully all is well and I'm sure you will be feeling elated after it tomorrow!

    xxx

    congratulations Claire :)

Agutka I felt dd3 very late (hardly at all until 22 weeks). It turned out her placenta was at the front, just beside my belly button. When you see the size of the tiny feet and the thickness of the placenta on the scan you could see why I couldn't feel anything! She certainly made up for it when she got bigger!

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow :)

19 weeks and I don't think I'm feeling anything - Agutka I'm back in the land of doubt too. I was feeling that gentle butterfly feeling - about ten days ago - then went on holiday and nothing. Back since the weekend and still nothing (thought maybe increased activity would stop me feeling it whilst away).

I had a bit of pain last night. Felt like period cramp but sharper. Bump really growing, but it could just be weight gain. Doesn't look nice and baby shaped :( looks bulgy and like I've eaten lots of Haribo - I have. Why can't I crave apples.

Anyway. Two weeks to scan for me - annoyed that this is at 21 rather than 20 - but then am grumpy about anything :p

Apparently, if you crave fizzy sweets, it's a sign that it's a boy. ;) I craved them with DS and now with his brother as well. At least I'm not at the stage where I was drinking cherryade and all that gunk, as I was towards the end of my last pregancy :rotfl:

Anyway, my favourite line at the moment is, "The baby wants it!!!", which is my answer to people staring at me stuffing my face with weird stuff. :p

Re: movements, I thought the flipping fish was a good description. :D I'm 25 weeks and the kicks are slowly reaching my ribs now. The scan lady did say the babe has long legs - woohoo

Also, how does he know when I go to bed? Every single night, as soon as I'm in bed, he starts the Riverdance impressions - how does he know?

Congrats to all the new additions to the list and welcome to the world to baby Freddie :T

Fac73, you're back! Was it total bliss? Welcome back to reality. I felt butterflies for one single night weeks ago, nothing since then.
I look fat too, but I still get 'skinny' days . Good thing is all my fat seems to have melted off my face/arms/chest into my belly and with the right maternity clothes we can shape a good bump.

Hubby was chopping carrots for dinner last weekend and, as usual, I kept reaching and stealing sticks, which annoys him no end. After having my hand slapped away for the millionth time I mantioned that baby needs the veg, at which point he said 'why didn't you say' and started feeding them to me! Guess who he loves most , not jealous, not jealous..... !!$"%£^^!!!!
