  • I've been looking at travel systems :D
the in-laws have offered to buy us one anything up to about £350  well as we were going to get a 2nd had buggy & just a basic car seat i wasn't going to refuse!!!

So today we've been to mothercare to look (was great fun :p ) and we think we would like a 'trenton deluxe' we had a play & got it all explained to us & it seems like the best one they had (not at too silly a price £260)

I can home & looked on the net & think it's the same as the 'graco quattro

You should have a look at the mothercare website - the trenton deluxe is on offer at the minute for 229.99:o

LOL SeptemberBaby, you've got just under three hours! Chop chop! :D

Seriously though, it will be worth the wait. Who cares about the month! :)
  • congrats rjh - stick with the sea-sick bands and make sure you've got them on each wrist. I thought mine weren't working until i took them off for a while (cos they hurt!) and felt 10 times worse!
Also, have been taking some vitamin supplements since before I got duffed and saw in the paper yesterday that a recent study confirmed one of the B vitamins (b12 i think) proved effective against morning sickness. I take a B complex vit since i'm veggie, so maybe that helped me not to have any vomiting the whole time? Didn't mean i didn't feel sick, but luckily never threw up!
As for the constipation, moved on from the prunes (much more likely to make me throw than MS) to flaxseeds mixed with yogurt, and now on a daily morning cuppa of hot water with lemon juice squirted in (sliced would prob be just as good if not better). The hot lemon gets everything moving!

Been away for the weekend and really missed my tempur mattress - hotel mattresses are not designed for bumps! Also missed all my pillows, so will make sure i take half the bedroom with me when we go on hol next week. Luckily it's just a week in northumberland so we can fit plenty in the car...and the dog will be more comfortable with all the cushions to lie on for the journey!
Have treated myself to one of those glider chairs (off ebay - couldn't afford the nice John Lewis ones!) and it's so comfortable I anticipate spending most of the next 5 months occupying it :) Talking of which, how can the rest of the time pass quickly, I seem to have taken forever to get to 18 weeks and still another 2 weeks until 1/2 way! Can't believe how long it is until March, but got to find a way to save up for maternity leave in the meantime...unless we've won the Euromillions and I've missed it :)
  • Ok, I have been awake for the last 1 1/2 hours with period type pains! is this the start?!?

    :rotfl::rotfl:Ooh, that made me laugh!

As for your pains this morning, in the grand scheme of things I do hope this is it for you, good luck, hope it goes well and quickly. But in the small scheme - too late! :p

dougggie, it does go slowly, like time never should, but then suddenly you're there, wondering where all those months went. I count myself fortunate, as I am not in a hurry to see baby, so my due date tomorrow doesn't make me faint with anticipation, but as we've all seen in this thread time can start almost moving backwards again!! So enjoy your glider and holidays, as it only gets better from now on! ;)

PS Can I just complain about being a huge OWW all over!! I don't think I can keep this up till the 10th!

Oh SB, i really hope this is it for you, even if its october now. Keeping my fingers crossed and sending labour vibes to you,

I really was convinced that it was all start for me last night, after cooking roast dinner i ate a load of pineapple, had a glass of red wine and then had sex-despite being the size of a whale and really uncomfortable(sorry if tmi).

But still nothing. Ah well, she's obviously still not ready.

Have also woken up late and really shouldn't be sat here typing, need to go get the other 2 ready for school and make lunches, oh and try to find some clothes that fit-seriously considering going in my pj's!!

  • SB you'd better keep us updated! Fingers crossed for you x

I am NOT a hypochondriac. I promise. I never get ill.
But I have woken up with pain in the lower right hand side of my bump - pain when I move, breathe, or don't move and don't breathe. I hate self diagnosis but Google says this is 'the' sign of appendicitis. I expected it to be somethign to do with the head engaging or the baby turning. Ignore it or bother the docs? I hate going to the doctors. Apart from the antenatals obviously. Not a fear or anything. Just feel like I use up more valuable time!
