  • Hi Ladies

I am now 18 weeks pregnant and up until the weekend was feeling fine, and had even felt what I can only assume were baby kicks :j
Since last Saturday morning I have had a dull ache in my abdoment, rather like very mild period pains. No bleeding, but a very small amount of white discharge (sorry if TMI!)
The 'pain' has come and gone, but 5 days later I am very worried that something is wrong. I think I have felt the baby moving this week.
I have my anomaly scan in a weeks time, should I worry and try and see someone before the scan to get checked out, or is this quite normal ?

    Thanks
    PP

I would mention it at your scan, they may want to check your cervix. I get a lot of watery discharge, and this is because I have a short cervix which is slightly funnelled. Your discharge doesn't sound the same, but it is worth raising it just in case.

  • Thanks for all your advice & support. I might just ring the midwife in the morning and discuss my concerns. I have been rather constipated too which might explain the aches and pains  .
Really looking forward to the scan next week, to see my little bundle all healthy. Pretty sure I felt a kick yesterday when I sneezed , which put my mind at rest.

3KidsNoMoney - have you considered having more conclusive tests for DS like CVS or Amnio ? It's a very tricky one. Hope it works out for you, whatever you decide. Keep in touch, would be good to have feedback from someone at the same stage as me.

tsstss7 - I know exactly how you feel - I was planning to work to 38 weeks as well, but have had to bring it forward as I have SPD and am finding it increasingly hard to copy with work as I'm in pain quite a lot. So I went to HR and told them that I was leaving on 10th October (when I will be 34 weeks), and it is the most wonderful thing to think that I only have 2 weeks left to work. HR were wonderful about it, really accomodating, even though I technically haven't given enough notice to start ML (I think you are supposed to give 28 days), and said that it would be no problem. Have day off today, and it has really reinforced the decision to stop early.

I know how you feel too. I was planning on working until 38 weeks but I'm just so tired that I've brought it forward to 31 weeks. My job invoves a lot of being on my feet and practical activities and I don't really get much of a break during the day. I have been going to bed at 9 and still waking u tired. Plus I have quite a challenging class and one or two have "anger management problems" and are known to lash out. I wouild have been going back at the same time regardless (just before the six weeks holidays!) so I figured I would gie myself a break. Plus I miss out on all the stressful plays, parties and Christmas lunches. I have got 41 days left to work and counting! Financially it's probably not the best decision but I think emotionally and physically it is!

    hi ladies

i had my 20week scan today and woohoo its a girl we are so pleased we already have a boy so one of each is gonna be really nice.this is also going to be the first girl born in my family for 20 years.
  • congrats liley9! its a nice feeling to have isn't it....i'll be meeting my little pink one in 12 days time, or sooner if she decides to put in an early appearance.

I really wouldn't mind if she wanted out tomorrow, I had a young lad offering to push my trolley to the till at Homebase this morning, bless him! So I must look like I'm ready to collapse or something!

i never got to that stage with my first baby he was born at 34 weeks so i feel really sorry for all of you that feel big and uncomfortable.you should have asked the lad at homebase to come home and do your ironing :rotfl:
  • Had my 38 week check up today - 38 weeks! Just writing it is scary.

She said the baby's head is engaged, that's good, right? Birth pool should arrive tomorrow so I almost hate to say it but I think we're ready... late last night I had a weird urge to sort out things like changing bags and place little mini stashes of baby wipes and cotton wool in various rooms around the house - well it beats cleaning the floors...

Edit: Now I'm not suggesting that we should be logging onto MSE on an hourly basis or anything - but Agutka has been offline since yesterday afternoon...
