I've been told I have a short cervix and may go into pre-term labour (17mm). Anyone else been through this or know someone who has? I've been given medication and put on bedrest (including a no sex rule which OH is just so pleased with).

omg i feel so bloody sick!!! help me!! i 7 weeks pregnant and feel relaly nauseous in morning and night. 1-4 is generally ok though! everything i eat makes me run to toilet to retch. only actually been sick once though and after i eat (except for lunch) i feel like i just wanna lie down and rest cos i feel ill. please do not advise me to eat blooming ginger nuts cos i hate the things and this is what everyone is telling me!! help me!!

It sucks doesn't it? I was sick for the first 15 weeks terribly. I lived on potato cakes, rich tea biscuits and sparkly water. Nothing really helped with me not even the famous ginger tea/biscuits/beer. In the end it was just a case of eat what I could, get plenty of rest and keep hydrated (and fizzy stuff seemed to stay down better than still). Plus make sure you have a room where no smells can penetrate like the cooking or laundry.

  • Congratulations and welcome Nicola! The third person to sneak in slightly ahead of me this week. Still I suppose I'm not too bothered. I'm counting the weeks until maternity leave but looking forward to a few weeks resting before baby comes along.

thanks for everyones tips. i might try ginger tea next week. today i got some travel sickness bands and i was able to cook dinner and eat it and right now dont feel sick yet so that is a positive one. problem is i work as a dental nurse and i wont be allowed to wear the bands in work due to hygiene and cross infection and the like!
love you lots like jelly tots :o

Hi just wondering if anyone has been prescribed co amoxiclav throughout their pregnancy had aphone call from receptionist at gps to say doctor has left a prescription for you to collect and this is what it is, having looked online it says should only be used in pregnancy when expected benefit to mother outweighs any potential problems for foetus. I cannot get through to doctors just interested if anyone else has had this.

    Thanks
Hi, I'm not pg anymore but am breastfeeding and was just prescribed this today. I'm pretty sure they prescribe the same stuff in pregnancy and during BFing, so it is safe.

I had to take some other antibiotics in pregnancy and also looked them up online, and the description was the same. I think it's a standard phrase they use and there aren't really any 'potential problems', they're just covering their backs.

  • Evening. I'm just back from the Gynae ward after being referred by my GP. I went to the GP with my back (it's been really sore for a fortnight now) and she palpatated my ab as well which was really painful. Anyway, I've had a vaginal ultrasound and they've found the sac but can't see anything in it. This absence (if it's correct) may be why I don't have any pg symptoms. I have to go in again for a "proper" ultrasound on Monday so I'm trying not to be too negative but feel prepared for the worst. All prayers and baby dust welcome.
