Hi Machairs, take a sickie and DONT feel guilty, your bodys got a lot going on anyway without a heavy cold!!! I was working for Somerfield, and they were the same we we're lucky to even get a thank you for doing more than we should. We all got lousy "thank you" badges and you only get a £50 bonus for 10 years employment lol. I finished up for maternity leave in late June and have never been happier, a huge weight off my shoulders. And if I don;t have to pay back my maternity I have no intention of going backl!!!

Thanks sarahmoon, I'm going to ask dh to phone both jobs (career one and extra pennies one) tomorrow and tell them I'm too ill to come in. He's really good on the phone, got the kind of voice you don't argue with and he will be delighted to do it for me especially the Tesco one! I've never missed a shift at Tesco and although I'm just back at work with my career job and only do 3 days, I don't think they will bother too much tbh. Neither employer knows I'm pg yet as I am waiting for the scan. Lying in bed with the laptop at the mo, dh just brought me up a big bowl of Heinz tomato soup which I couldn't taste. Everytime I get out of bed I feel sick and I don't know whether it is flu or morning sickness!

what a day
i had more leakage this morning, mw came to do sweep, told her about leak so she said i needed to be checked out to see if waters had gone
she then examined me and said she thought baby had turned so was back to back
then......................

she says

erm no i think baby has turned to breech you need to go to the hospital
so i spent a few hours in hospital, had to have a scan cos no1 could decide which way baby was, turns out she is fine just head so far down they couldnt work it out!
and i had an internal, they said waters were okay, then felt again and said they didnt know so i had two internals and then a sweep.
they said i am 1cm dilated so im thinking yey im in labour - but seems that is not the case, nothing is happening.
sorry gals that i dont have some baby news but what a day

i am hoping something happens but tbh been at hospital was okay i am not so scared of being induced now

Hi Emma, I'm actually sorry your still here, I thought you were in labour!! You really have had a day of it! I hope your second sweep works. Mine is Wednesday which can't come fast enough! I'm hoping the midwife will also book my induction on Wednesday, I can't go over another weekend like this! I am a beached whale and I can hardly move. I was just lying on settee cuddled into OH and got up and he has pins and needles lol!!!!

What an experience Emma, just what you need. And none of that interference popped the baby out? All that poking, you'd think the baby would just be annoyed into the world lol.

So, what am I doing up this time of night? Just normal pee break, but I do seem to have some sort of chest infection - my lungs felt funny ever since I inhaled a little too much gloss paint fumes (fyi :eek: ), then I slowly lost my voice and of course now my throat has gone sore. Which I hate at the best of times. I hope my respitratory tract gets sorted by labour day, as can't imagine being able to do all that hard work otherwise! Thankfully seeing the doc for an antenatal tomorrow, so I can moan at her.

And I thought I'd escaped any diseases during the pregnancy. *cough cough*

been having contractions since 9.50pm, every ten mins to start with for two hours then every 5 mins, i am going to make my way upto hosp soon and hopefully be told im in established labour

with over 8 hours of contractions looks like things are def. happening for you!
