  • I know this will make you sick, but someone in work's wife was having her first a few weeks ago - contractions started early morning on her due date, and baby arrived 7 hours later! What are the odds on that?
Very jealous but have put in a cosmic order for a nice birth like that :)
  • Hi all,

For those of you who have been abroad whilst pregnant, who did you take your travel insurance out with?
I'm off to Spain next Saturday to visit my family! I can't wait! Shame i'm going on my own mind,OH has to stay & work.
Our 1st baby is due 29th December 2007! :rudolf:
I'm hopeful that this get's me out of cooking Christmas dinner!

Baby Ruby arrived after 55 hours of labour & an emergency c section on Christmas Day at 14.41 weighing 6lb 6oz...And yes I did get out of cooking Christmas dinner!!:rotfl:
  • Hi everyone, just thought I'd check in on this thread..I'm on the final home straight now hopefully, 36+4 now and finished work for my maternity leave yesterday! I am now hoping I get a nice couple of weeks to put my feet up and mentally prepare before baby comes- it will be wierd to have the house to myself because I work in a school so my holidays = my kids holidays usually!

The good news is it looks likes I have escaped cholestasis this time despite the odds, I was told I had a 90% chance of getting it this time around as I had it before, meaning I would have to deliver at 37 weeks as a precaution. However my blood tests at 35 weeks were clear and I've not had any severe itching which is one of the main symptoms. I'm not out of the woods as it can come on quickly, but fingers crossed!

Looking forward to catching up on the new arrivals :)
  • Morning squashy and everyone else!

Just checking up on the list, noticed you and me are on for the same day, 9th October. My official due date is 13th oct but I have my section booked for the 9th. To put it into perspective ....thats 3 weeks on tuesday!!!!!!

Right .... need to get a sense of urgency and pack mine and babys bag... the way this babe has been using my bladder for a trampoline for the last couple of hours makes me think she's had enough of the confined space. Me too...I've got elephant ankles, can't bend down, heartburn... and I'm sure I was bigger than this with DS last time round!

Ooohh but I just can't wait to meet this little one!

Sending good luck vibes to all you squatters out there, your turn will come!

  • Morning all!

Waiting patiently for the Early Sept Girls to clock on ;)

Well, I had a Baby Shower thrown for me last night! (it should have been a few weeks ago but I was ill :o). Anyways, I have a Nappy Cake :j:j:j. Not sure whats inside it yet as I can't bring myself to dismantle it :D but it looks fab!

I'm obviously talking to the voices of experience here, and the research I've done online so far just sends me to things to buy. So, what are the things I need to think about when TTC. I'm trying hard not to just concentrate on the baby, and we are still enjoying ourselves, but if there's something I should be doing (post-coital handstands maybe...?), then I'd appreciate knowing.;)
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o

As you know, I am TTC like you (have only been trying for a couple of months).

So far I found a useful thread here http://boards.babycentre.co.uk/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=75&nav=messages&webtag=bcUKTryOvr35&tid=830 for TTC aged over 35 (which I am  ) but I am sure the tips will work for those under 35 too :p

I have read the book Zita West's guide to getting pregnant (I am one of those people who has to read about it first!) and as a result DH and I do the deed every couple of days (at least). I do a chart based on Zitas advice (CM monitoring) and I do OPKs which have put my mind at rest last week as I certainly had a LH surge (I didnt detect one the previous month but that was the first month after coming off the pill).

I do take my temperature daily but thats only to try to detect the date of ovulation and to work out how long my luteal phase is (dont want to get too hung up on the temp side). DH is taking vitamin c and zinc to help his little swimmers and I am taking pregnacare tablets too (have been for a couple of months). I am drinking less coke and lots more water which helps CM apparently.

And biggest thing of all, DH and I make sure we have lots of fun trying!

    Hope this helps ;)

  • Hi all, just checking in. My squatter is hanging on in there for dear life!! Ended up lying on the settee all afternoon yesterday feeling really sick, thought that might be a start of something but no such luck. And my heartburn came back, whats all that about

    Emma, still hanging on??
They took my signature away!!!!
  • Afternoon all. Not knowing enough about you all to offer any words of wisdom yet but sending contraction vibes to all those who are waiting for baby to make an appearance. Feeling pretty miserable today; been laid low with a heavy cold/flu for the last few days and of course I can't really take anything stronger than paracetomal for it. Now thinking I may not make it into work tomorrow. Tempting to have dh take ds 2 into Nursery, drop ds 1 at School and not see any of them until 6pm! I could just lounge around the house and have a good rest.....

Mightily hacked off at Tesco - store manager gave me an envelope and said the contents were to recognise my perfect attendance for 6mos. Forgive me for thinking it might be a wee gift voucher eh? Billions of pounds of profit made by Tesco yearly so that would be a mere drop in the ocean. Nah, a sodding "Show you care" thingie which means I have ticked one of their boxes and I will get a badge. I dropped it in the bin. Even the letter accompanying it had a typo. Makes me more and more happy I have decided to leave at Christmas. The times, including this past few weeks, I have dragged myself in there with a sore back, heavy cold etc and that is the thanks I get? End of rant, sorry guys.
