Oh, izoomzoom I know how you feel. I am so hormonal too. Been up since 5 and finally cracked up and cried buckets about 7......they are leaving me 8 days between check ups now I am past due date and I am so frightened something will go wrong.....

The swelled up hands and feet is sooo uncomfortable isn't it. I had to start getting up in the night to put handcream on because fingers were so swollen and sore. Mine swelled up really suddenly so I had to get my rings cut off....I went to the jewellers and it was easily done, he said if I had left it any longer I might have had to have it done in hospital....I was upset but he did reassure me that they could be mended as good as new after the birth when things had settled down.

Try and put those feet up and hope you feel better soon...

Nice to see you around early sarah..4 hours doesn't sound that bad (in theory!) No, horror stories are not good. Ignorance is bliss with your first, and you forget it as soon as you see your gorgeous little bundle anyway!

So we are just waiting for Emma to check in now?!

no scary birth stories please! :rotfl:
well, yep i am still here, i am now convinced that i will end up being induced:o , after all the tricks i have tried and baby is still squatting. okay so it isnt y EDD till tomoro but what does that matter in the irrational mind of a heavily pregnant lady

i had to remove my rings about two weeks ago i cant stand tight jewellery anyway so whipped them off at first sign of swelling. as rachel said, best to get it done at jewellers if need be

whats the plan for you now then rachel? when is your sweep/induction if needed?
do they allow us 12 days over then induce ya? sooooo hope i dont get that far

Without wanting to upset you Rachel , my friend recently had her third. She had four and two hours labours start to finish with her first two and went 17 hours with number three! Apparently her midwife told her number three is often a whole different experience!

My first labour took four days(!) and the second one took 32 hours - both ended up needing medical intervention. I'm hoping that number three goes the opposite way and is really quick (not that I think it will be as both my Mum and Grandma both had very long labours.)

I'll settle for a nice 2 hour labour then lol.....if only. You've had it tough with yours, hope the next one is easier!

  • you want to hear something annoying (although i would be greatful to hear anything that didnt echo at the moment... bloody ears  )

My labour with DD lasted nearly 14 1/2 hours,
    6am til 8.22pm
OH's mum had 5 babies (no multiples) and if you add up the combined labour time, it is LESS than my one!
and she left the hospital each time wearing jeans that would fit a barbie (she makes it really hard to like her :D )

I had 3 day labours with both of mine - and I've been told that might just be the way I labour! Oh joy - something to look forward to then:rolleyes:

CG - hope youre feeling better soon

izoom - great excuse to put your feet up and get OH to run round after you - hope you feel better soon

wow, thanks Septemberbaby, you are really close aren't you! Hope everything goes well, and you aren't too uncomfortable. I've been off mse for a while for one reason and another so am a bit out of touch with everybody here. Am getting back into it though!

I know and I'm getting really, really scared!!!

Good to have you back x
  • I know and I'm getting really, really scared!!!

ive had enough of this pregnancy stuff... forget being scared, i just cant wait for it to be over (obviously... he needs to bake a while longer and i dont actually want him out til hes ready but... bleh.... its been f-o-r-e-v-e-r!)

but the rational part of my brain is getting all excited, because my cousin was due first and she had a boy last week, my sister in law is due in 2 weeks time.... and then its me,
    thank god.

i am the last one of four of my friends to have a baby.. its really wierd when you know they have to give birth first then they do and you think s*it its me next!

my pregnancy seemed to go so fast but these last few weeks are soooooooo slow.

Has anyone else beocme obsessed with weeks?! i now know how manye weeks it is till our 1st wedding anniversary (6:D ) and how mnay weeks till Christmas (wont post that ;) ) and how many weeks till OHs 30th birthday........after spending 9 months thinking about weeks is it a habit that others find hard to break, or is it just me :o all you get asked during preg is "how many weeks are you/ how many weeks have you got left"
whenever someone mentions an occasion now ill think "arr thats x weeks away" or "baby will be x weeks by then"
  • Hi all. Emma people who were due after me have their babies already, how depressing is that. I'm still hanging on here, just waitin for the scotland game to finish and we're heading out for tea. I am starving and sooo looking forward to not cooking. I went to M&S and they had no maternity bras left, OH got a gorgeous pair of leather shoes reduced from £50 to £7 though. A bargain, although he is worse for me than shoes lol!!! He has about 20 pairs which I think is a but much for a man. Spent my skincare vouchers in boots and got Time Delay Radiance Balm, I thought it might help with the sleepless nights ahead lol. My feet are absolutely huge now tho, all the walking and it is still soo hot here!!!
They took my signature away!!!!
