Thanks CG (and sorry you feel ropey)and congrats on baby Alex Dormouse! Signing on here last time was the kiss of death but think I've left it long enough this time. I haven't been sick for a week - hurray! Had it all day and much worse than with ds. Also had hte falling asleep everywhere this time, and once woke after a sort of doze to find I was wearing Shrek ears........ds thought they'd make me feel better.

Nice to see you're still here Emma! Really thought you'd gone into labour lol....Hope you have your feet up and are taking it easy :D
No news here yet....still waiting and waiting.....took dd to first day back at school and had numerous shocked faces when I said i was due yesterday, and loads of offers of help which was lovely.
Had another curry tonight but baby refusing to budge, just kicking like mad. Bought some prune juice as a random website said this can bring you on....only thing is I can't bring myself to drink it,,,
As you;ve been through this three times already Sarah is it true that each labour is quicker and easier than the last? I'm hoping...one mum said her second only took 15 mins (after induction)

God Rachel I wish mine had only took 15 mins!!! My first two were four hours, 20 mins or so each with about 8 or 9 minutes of pushing but my son was 18 hours, I think that may be because he was back to back with me and once they had realised that, turned him and broke my waters it was about four hours. So for me it wasn't really true, but who knows this time!! I've heard a few scary birth stories recently (why is it people want to tell you when your due to pop??) and I would tell you them but don't want to scare Emma lol!!!!
They took my signature away!!!!

Congratulations and welcome rjh and bun.

How are our resident Sept mums doing - Rachel, Emma and Sarah ?

and Oh CG, I hope the antibiotics are making you better.

I am so upset this morning. I have woken up and my fingers are swollen and I can't get my rings off, even though we have tried soaping them. My ankles have been like tree trunks for ages, and I accept this, but my fingers and the fact that I may have to get my rings cut off has sent me over the edge. I don't know if it has anything to do with being itchy, as I woke up numerous times during the night and scratching my hands because they were itchy. My ankles, kness and elbows are also itchy ! Thankfully it isn't my bump isn't, but weird.

Off to go and drink lots of water. Fight fire with fire !!

Without wanting to upset you Rachel , my friend recently had her third. She had four and two hours labours start to finish with her first two and went 17 hours with number three! Apparently her midwife told her number three is often a whole different experience!

My first labour took four days(!) and the second one took 32 hours - both ended up needing medical intervention. I'm hoping that number three goes the opposite way and is really quick (not that I think it will be as both my Mum and Grandma both had very long labours.)
