  • Congrats, Sadie! :jSorry you are having such a stressful time x

Best of luck, Lilian! ;) x

I would go with my DH, emjem, if it were me. Never mind all the other blokes. Yours is the one thats important! Good luck with everything x

    Boobylou
, I'm sure you will earn your stripes soon! And believe me, even if you endured every single ailment us EDD'ers have posted on here, you would not change it for the world! :D x

Thanks, Dormouse! I'm sure I will be the one eating humble pie (mmmmm, pie!) after my baby is born but for the moment I like buying things for her! Glad all is going well with you and Alex. How is DS1 with his new bro? Are they like peas in a pod?! x

And emma, sarah & rachel, we are watching you like hawks! :rotfl:x

sorry sarah i dont know what waters are supposed to smell like, did you ask your midwife about the leakage??

Hi Emma, I did and she took a swab and said it didn't look like may waters had gone, but then muttered to the trainee midwife that didn't mean anything as there were definitely red blood cells down there??? So I'm not entirely sure whats happening to be honest. Just wish it was all over.

On the upside I'm off to Asda with OH mum tonight (no kids yahaay) and our Asda is huge and she will want to look at everything!! So maybe that will bring me on lol!!!
They took my signature away!!!!

Can I just gloat for a bit, just to annoy you all? :p I love not being pregnant. :j I don't get those women who say they miss their bumps - I don't. I love being able to bend down, paint my toenails, hug DH, fit into semi-human clothes and generally feel human, even despite not getting more than 2 hours of sleep in a row. And, depsite a penchant for Fruit & Nut and Rolo doughnuts, I'm losing between 200g-1kg (that's 1/2 lb - 2lb) a day! :j

Hang on in there, girlies, your babies will be here soon. :grouphug:
Me too! Not sure about my daily weight loss but I've lost more than a stone including the birth and that's despite suddenly having 2 bowling balls where my breasts once were... :rotfl:

Good luck to all those about to pop - I never got to the fed up stage as it was a HUGE shock that DS was early.

sarah can't comment on the smell as mine didn't really have any but the liquid is pretty slimy and really unlike pee or sweat. If you're still leaking then you should be checked by someone who knows what they're doing as there's an increased risk of infection once the waters have broken.

Had my 4d scan this morning - we're having a girl! DD is thrilled as it "would have been boring if it was another boy" Now all we have to do is choose a name:p

For those of you who live in Surestart areas, make sure you register. I re-registered yesterday and was given a little pack with massage oil for bump/stretch marks, a little teddy and a healthy eating leaflet with a Veggie voucher, which gives a good mix of fruit and veg. I'll get another pack just before I'm due with maternity pads, breast pads, toiletries etc. I can borrow a TENS machine free of charge, and when I have baby, there is another pack with some bits for baby and I could get a breastpump - except I've still got my old one.

They also sell home safety equipment really cheaply e.g. safety gate £8.

And then there is all the groups they run - baby massage, words & pictures.

I don't know if it's the same in all areas - but worth checking out.

Welcome to all the newbie's :j

I'm sitting in work just now close to tears :(
I work in a small office of three men and one other lady who is pregnant!!!
No-one at work knows that me and my OH have been ttc as I'm trying to keep it quiet at the mo (feel like quite a failure tbh)
Anyways, since she found out she was expecting all she talks about is babies babies babies whilst I'm sitting at my desk, pretending to listen and using every inch of self control I have not to burst into tears. I am very happy for her and her boyfriend and I'm excited for her also but it just hurts too much. I don't mean to come across as a jealous nasty girl, I'm really not at all. I have helped her all the way through and gave her some ideas and tips I have got from you's guys but it just kills me that before she got pregnant all she spoke about was how much she disliked children and never ever wanted any and actually tried on more than one occasion to talk me out of having a baby, saying it would ruin my life and career!! It also tears me up that she smoked and drank (still does:confused: ) and ate junk food but still managed to conceive after a drunken night out at her sisters wedding, where-as myself and my OH have been watching our diets for months, do not smoke and had our last alcoholic drink at new year. I feel like I cant talk about this with anyone as my mum says I'm still young and have years to get pregnant and my OH keeps saying "just be happy and chill, our time will come" and to stay off mse as reading all the preggy stories is making me worse:o but its totally different as Iv not read one story on mse where the mum to be is drinking, still going out to clubs ect and goes to the gym every day because "no baby is ruining my figure" I mean come on??? Who honestly does that??? I feel as though I can open up and be honest here as no-one is judging me and I do get great advice and tips and tricks from fellow ttc'ers. :grouphug:
I know life's life and you just have to go with the flow, but I'm beginning to think I have ran out of positive-ness.

Sorry for the moaning, but thanks for listening.

I need a good kick up the backside :p

  • helend what is a surestart area and how do you know if you are in one?? Is there somewhere online I can check?

Found some sanctuary mum to be foot and leg spritz today in boots clearance for 50p!
  • Feeling really low today. Got lots on my mind unrelated to baby and at the moment my pregnancy feels like it is coming last. really disappointed with care given during pregnancy and contemplating homebirth - anyone got any pros and cons of this.
    now mum of 4!!!
