rachel, the head engaged thingy, my MW said at 3/5th that means that 3/5th of babys head is in my pelvis bit and at 5/5th your obv. fully engaged. she said it was a silly system that confused everyone ! ;)

Thanks for the info emma, was 3/5th today so getting closer. Disappointed bp up again though, just want my baby to arrive safely and to stop all this worrying. no sarahmoon today? Maybe she has beaten us to it? lol

I just can't stay away from this thread. :D (Tell me to go away if I start rabbitting on too much. :o)

The what you need/don't need for baby debate, surely it's personal choice, just like everything else in life. SB, I feel completely the same about baby baths! ;) In fact, just last night as Alex was enjoying a lovely bath in his lovely baby bath (he actually didn't scream his head off! Must've reminded him of being born :happyhear) I was saying to DH how I couldn't imagine him bathed in the sink (might as well use Fairy liquid :p).

TBH I actually think nappy wrappers are a waste of money, but it's just MHO. :p One of the biggest things about being a parent is realising just how different everyone is in their approach to parenting, and not letting that bother you. When you have a baby, everyone always has an opinion about what you should be doing, and 9 times out of 10 you've just got to learn to ignore them. It's your life, your baby, you're the mum, you know best.

And that was the end of Dr Dormouse's lecture on parenting... :rotfl:

Can I just gloat for a bit, just to annoy you all? :p I love not being pregnant. :j I don't get those women who say they miss their bumps - I don't. I love being able to bend down, paint my toenails, hug DH, fit into semi-human clothes and generally feel human, even despite not getting more than 2 hours of sleep in a row. And, depsite a penchant for Fruit & Nut and Rolo doughnuts, I'm losing between 200g-1kg (that's 1/2 lb - 2lb) a day! :j

Hang on in there, girlies, your babies will be here soon. :grouphug:

    Afternoon everyone.

Have bitten the bullet and went with DH to see the Doctor last week re TTC. Had a blood test and am awaiting results.

My question is that DH has an appointment at the hospital next week to give his "sample." I have mentioned that I will go with him for moral support if required but am now thinking is that the correct ettiquette?! Will I be the only female in a waiting room full of nervous shifty men? Will I add to their embarrassment?

    Anyone got any ideas?

Sadie sorry to hear you are having such a bad time of it - agencies are sooo kind when you are doing the work but spit you out pretty fast dont they. i do hope you get some money sorted out soon, it wont be helping your BP much will it x

Hopeless Cook, i went on a mad nesting binge around 31 weeks and im so glad i did cos now at almost 39weeks i wouldnt have the energy for all the cupboard cleaning! today i have been on a bit of a nesting session though i have washed the bathroom floor and all the tiles, cleaned bathroom and both bedrooms and sorted through all my old handbags (well i needed a sit down job i was shattered! )

rachelja, good to hear babys head is going down ;) not long to go now! im hoping my cleaning might have got things moving but i doubt it! im going to have a bath watch 60min makeover (they always leave bumps in the wallpaper though id KILL them  ) and might even walk to shop for some chocolate :D

Dormouse, thankyou for the weight information i just cant wait to shed some of this bulge - i do like being pregnant but also i like wearing nice clothes and not sweating all the time! :o
  • Hi all, hope everyone is okay. Rachel I'm still here, unfortunately lol!!

Okay this may be tmi, but I've read somewhere that if your waters were leaking it would smell a bit like semen??? (sorry girls I know lol). Is this true, my waters never broke with the other three until I was in established labour, but I've had to wear a pad since saturday and it definitely doesn't smell like pee (Iam so sorry again lol I did say TMI!!!). Anyone know??

I feel fine today even though I am supposed to have high bp, temp etc. Handed another sample in at Docs today so should find out by monday if everything is okay. Loads of period pain cramps today but nothing major. I actually went back to bed after the school run this morning for the first time ever and I feel guilty??? Whats the guilt all about lol!!
They took my signature away!!!!

Hi Lillian06 - nope you are not alone - there are quite a few of us out here, working very hard towards promotion to the EDD list!! :D Welcome to the TTC area and I hope you get promoted soon (not as soon as me though, lol) ;)

Anxieties? hell yes! I am 36 years old and a bit overweight so I suspect my odds are not the best they could be. My DH and I have only been trying for a month and oh boy had I forgotten what "real" periods felt like!!!! But I have to keep myself in check and realise that its very early days and I should just relax and enjoy the whole TTC experience.

I love reading the postings from our EDD ladies but there is a little part of me that is saying oh my god, is that what the pregancy is going to be like?? hell no!!!

Anyway, good luck to all :D
