Every week we say to ourselves "Nah, doesn't look like much growth this week", then compare the pics and are AMAZED!

sarahmoon, Stop with the scrubbing floors and cleaning frenzy and chill out and relax! easier said than done i know but you must do for your bp etc to settle down.
i have been waiting to get home and get on here to see if you were still here after the full moon!
my babys head is 3/5th engaged and i will be havung a sweep 11th sept if no baby by then, which im hoping i dont get that far but arent we all!

Hi Emma, thats my due date!!! My first chance of a sweep would be the 12th Sept, which is my next appt. I'm still here lol, a bit calmer now, I had expected everything to be fine with the midwife but when she said about the temp and the bp I paniced a bit. I've to hand another sample in tomorrow and the midwife will come to the house on Friday and check my bp again, so hopefully everything will be fine then. Off for a long hot bath and then feet up fo Supernanny, I'll probably need her when I've got four kids lol.

Here's hoping we go soon!!

emma_b, and anyone overdue, near due date or a sweep has been mentioned to:
Hi I am on baby number 5 and I wondered if you might try what I did with my last 2. Walked up a 100 steps(Beach where I live!) and drive on a bumpy unmade road twice. I did this with my last one a week befor due date and she arrived the following day, 8 days early. I swear by it. Do not for gods sake do the castor oil - apart from the fact it is said it can be dangerous(Don't know how) The midwife can actually tell that you have done it. Hope this helps

Hi Kelsi, the thing with the castor oil is that the baby could ingest it aswell causing it to poo before its born, if the baby swallows meconium then that is really quite dangerous. I wouldn't advise anyone to do it.

So, how does this head engaged thing work then I was 2/5th engaged last wk but didn't know what that meant. Have my antenatal tomorrow so will see what it is then.

I was a not unreasonable size 14 before pregnancy, maybe a 16 on a bad day as i had just given up smoking after 15 years and im pretty sure most people put on a few comfort pounds when going cold turkey from a life time habit,
im not huge, im just carrying out the front....

im seriously dreading the school run starting again and getting asked 50 times when im due and getting this reaction all the time
im tempted to start telling all these 'well meaning' people to f**k off.
