If it's any consolation CG I am only 18 and a bit weeks and already huge! I was a similar size to you before pregnancy but am only 5'1 so already look quite plump. Don't know if it's because of third baby or just crap stomach muscles but i have a very definite bump. Didn't tell any of the parents / children at the school where I teach before we broke up so am expecting some very shocked looks on Tuesday!! Already seen a couple of parents in supermarkets in the last week and their eyebrows shot into their hairline, quite amusing really!
Think I may need a crane to hoist me out of bed by Christmas!!0 -
Just thought I'd pop in and let you know that I had my scan yesterday and everything was fine. Baby was measuring fine for my dates, and we saw some little boy bits :T so it's a blue bump :j
Oh yeah - and the moving I asked about in my last post, well it's definitely moving and now I've started to feel kicks too. In fact last night it kicked so hard my belly moved and OH could feel it :rotfl:
Take care everyone

Hope we'll be seeing a few MSE babies on this board soon there are a fair few just playing the hybernating game I think!!
Hello and welcome to the newbies.
Ophie, hope you don't mind me asking, sorry if you do and don't answer but have you adopted before? We had thought about doing it before I got pregnant but will defo think bout it in the future.
I went to see doc today and I have Sciatica, joy joy joy!! But never mind have my 20 week scan to look forward to tomorrow (but policy stops them from telling us the sex boo hoo!!). Then our 4D in 2 weeks time!! So excited about that one.
Hope everyone is well

Scruffy, I don't mind at all.
This is the first time that I have adopted.
I have been pregnant, got stretch marks, got fat, was ill the entire thing - taken to hospital cos I was ill but the leech (my affectionate term for my son) was fine, but I wasn't at all. Got all the way to 26 weeks, started to bleed, went to hospital... gave birth. My son died after an hour of being held by people who loved him.
So... I didn't enjoy being pregnant nor the outcome. Although I suspect that any future pregnancies would be very different from that one, I really don't want to try again (now anyway).
Before I got pregnant I always thought that I would like to adopt, and now 6 years after my son died here I am about to get a beautiful little girl.
I hope that I haven't upset anyone with my story, but thought that it might answer questions that some of you have about why I am adopting. I suppose I am quite fortunate that I don't have the pain of when I get my daughter knowing that I have lost the ability to have my own 'birth child', which I understand a lot of adoptive parents have.
Personally the adoption has been my choice entirely. I am on my own now (after having very bad experience with my son's father) and I know that I will be bale to provide my daughter with everything she needs. First and foremost a loving, stable enironment and a Mummy who will love her so much.
Ok I have stopped now, and again I hope that I haven't upset anyone, if anyone wants to ask me any further questions please do not hesitate to PM me.
xI saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellitesIs it wrong to wish on space hardwareI wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -
Oh, Ophie, what a story you have to tell... but wow, I didn't know you could adopt as a single parent. How exciting for you! Not long to go now. I suppose you have to put your feet up before the big day, just like the rest of us. Yes, deffo get some 'me' time in.
Which I won't.
I am getting scared now. 8 months pregnant, living on a building site, with the whole house to re-arrange when the decorating is finished. Aaarrgghhh. I will NEVER be ready.
Fac, congratulations on your decision. You don't know what you've let yourself in for, just remember why you did it and you should get through it.
Let's hear it for late babies!!
Personally I am going to stay away from raspberry leaf tea, curries, pineapples and definitely OH!! Although I am already feeling physically pooped, I cannot be having this baby early! It would have nowhere to go...:wall:0 -
I keep drifting over to the 'what not to buy your baby' thread against my better judgement! I'm really sorry if I offend any of you girls, but my baby WILL NOT be bathed in a washing up bowl!!!
. I've loved buying all the bits for my baby's arrival and I have been budget buying since about week 20 when I had my scan and knew things were OK. If I find I don't use something then I will pass it on/freecyle/ebay it....and there was absolutely no way DH was missing out on a nappy wrapper - he's totally fancinated by this stinky sausage making machine :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Eh. Well, the LL is pretty much holding us to ransom so looks like all plans might be off. But on, or off, the stress in the last two days has made me feel so sick, I've had enough and I don't know whether to roll over and accept that we're stuck here, or fight my corner until we can leave. But this isn't the place for that.
SB, I think the main thing to remember is the difference between want and need, and also that want and need are different for everyone. I have no baby bath, or washing up bowl, so I've just gone for a bath support. Might cave in and buy one of those bucket shaped things though... I certainly don't 'need' a moses basket but I have one. But, if my budget were tighter, maybe I wouldn't...
Agutka, things must be well underway now with the house? Have faith in it all coming together, it will because it has to. You're planning a hospital birth, right? If all else fails refuse to be discharged until everything is ready!
For me, this part of pregnancy is starting to feel like a very lonely place.0 -
Oh, Fac, what a decision to make. I know you really hate where you live now but you can't afford to make yourself ill. I hope your LL changes heart x0

Is feeling ill not normal then? I work myself into the ground every day (takes all of two minutes) and then wonder how to carry on. It takes me hours to make a cup of tea, as I get up to put the kettle on. Then don't have the energy to get up (remember our bed is our sofa, so getting on and off is kind of an adventure) and have to re-heat the water. God help me if there are no clean cups - that's a trip to the bathroom - and of course there's all that gravity and things falling on the floor - bending down makes me pass out! Such fun! This morning I'm making a hot chocolate...
You should start crying at people Fac. That should work, right? Pregnant upset woman - they can't argue with that!Agutka, things must be well underway now with the house? Things are underway, overway, everywhere. OH figured out this morning that we have about a month to go. I pointed out pregnancies can end between 37/8 - 42 weeks, so maybe we have just a week and a half left. That shut him up .
I love the idea of staying in hospital! How welcome would I be? How happy would I be to live there? Hmmm. Options options... Even my Mum's is no longer a viable option, as she's moving house herself...
And if one more person says - you knew this would happen, knew you were pregnant, why didn't you do this earlier blah blah, I will kill them  - hormones
.
PS. I've just knocked a pencil off the desk. That's staying on the floor then.:wall:0 -

im with you september, my baby wont ever sit in a washing up bowl either!
dont take too much notice of that thread... everybody needs different things,
those women without cots must be mad! i could NEVER do that....(but each to thier own!)
i used the baby bath all the time, i hated slings, i loved my big pram and while i liked the nappy wrapper (and the stinky sausages) first time round i can see now why i dont really need it,
after a few months i stopped buying the refills and just used to use it as a bin to throw nappys in sacks into, so i might as well use a normal bin and save myself the money!
i know we have probably spent out on things we dont actually need, this may be my second but its OHs first and if he wants it, he buys it... and quite right too!
balls to what any one else thinks!
its cute... i need it :rotfl:0
