just updated myself on the list, my due date is 24th April 08. Now i am trying to make sense of all my maternity rights and benefits, I teach so i know some of my pay entitlements are a little different, I found the info months ago, but now i need it i cant find it anywhere.

Try the TES website forums. There is a FAQ on there that tells you entitlements exactly if you are teacher and it all depends whether you have been working in same LEA / school for 26 weeks before birth. I can't remember off the top of my head what it says as it seems to be so many weeks at full pay (4?), then so many at 90% (2?), then so many at half pay plus SMP, then so many at just SMP.

Are you going back just before 6 weeks holidays then if you're taking 5 months?
I'm planning on taking 6 but have two weeks at Christmas just before that, then will only be back acouple of weeks and will be 6 weeks holidays.

hinking start maternity leave the 1st day of summer term after easter brea

i was thinking stating maternity leave 1st day of summer term, (which will mean full pay over easter hols) then go back last day of summer term so i get full pay over summer hols. baby will be 4 1/2 months by then. It will be hard leaving him/her so young, but my child minder is wonderful, and hubby will help with childcare too.

Rose i'm so sorry for your loss, and for your partner and daughter too.
:j Baby bonce was born on Christmas morning after a ridiculously short labour and no pain relief! If only losing the baby weight was as easy!:T
  • Rose - so, so sorry & I hope you can get through tomorrow - there will be lots of us on this thread thinking about you. :grouphug:

AFAIK when the waters break it could be loads or it could be a trickle, but the liquid should keep coming - you'd need a pad in all the time. If this was just a one-off, my guess would be it's not the waters.

So what did the MW say?

MW said not to worry and it probably wasn't my waters but the baby is well engaged and she even told me she would be working at the hospital tonight and might see me there!! I've had period type cramp for the last 2/3 days but is getting worse so we'll see if these contractions kick in!:p

Thanks for reasurring me anyway Dormouse, God how can other people get through pregnancy without this forum and you people!!!
