    hi all

had it confirmed today ive had a M/C although i knew it needed the OH to hear it confirmed, he is upset as would have been his first but i have agreed to try again, so im thinking that mabey this baby was sent to get me ready mentally and physically (lose more weight) to have another one.. Not looking forward to telling my daughter tonight, next time god willing we will keep it quiet for the first 3 months so as not to upset anymore people than needs to be..

    Thanks for all your support

the baby is well engaged and she even told me she would be working at the hospital tonight and might see me there!! I've had period type cramp for the last 2/3 days but is getting worse so we'll see if these contractions kick in!:p
Ooh, how exciting :j (and I'm not at all jealous :o - I've been having on and off cramps and backache for weeks now but they never lead to anything ).
  • So sorry to hear Rose about your miscarriage.

don't feel bad about telling your daughter early. things can go wrong at many stages of pregnancy and if we really didn't want to upset anyone we wouldn't tell them till the baby was born and OK.

i told my kids at about 9 weeks, i am now 12 and only now am i able to tell them about how the baby is growing. but even now i am conscious that maybe something might go wrong. but kids are more resiliant than we give them credit for and i think that it is important to include them so that they can understand what is going on and perhaps why mummy is sad.

who actually enjoys pregnancy - is just seem to spend the whole time worrying!
    now mum of 4!!!

Excellent attitude Rose, very sorry to hear your news and good luck in the future.

I need to dig out the pregnancy books. 33 and a bit weeks and I am starting to need more info... Like when does baby start engaging - I haven't had the kicking in the ribs yet - blaming this on high placenta cushion, nor the can't breathe thing, apart from the breathlessness I started experiencing weeks ago...
Somebody mentioned today that my bump looks lower, but I have no idea, it keeps moving and changing shape. Is my baby still free-ish to move about?
We are having the HOUSE re-decorated so I have no idea where anything is...

LOL people always have a comment on bumps dont they - its big, small, low high, all up front, round the sides, neat etc etc its like they HAVE to comment! :p
im 36 and half weeks and my babys head is "fixed" now so ready to engage midwife said - im presuming her head is engaging or at least having a good try as i keep getting shooting pains and like a weird grinding feeling down below.
all babys are different though and there is no "set" time for head to engage apparently some dont until labour begins

i hope my baby hurries up anytime after 37 weeks im happy for her to come along  im bored of waiting!

I am trying to work out how to be as frugal as possible during this pregnancy. with the age gap from my last one, it is like starting all over again. I had a look around some shops today , and wow, everything available, i know that most of the stuff out there is not needed. so i think i am going to have to beg, borrow and steel for this pregnancy to spend as little cash as possible because trying to survive over maternity leave, I have been a single parent on benefits in the past so i know i can do it, i just have to get back into that mindset.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

you could post on freecycle i have seen lots of baby stuff on there. also friends and family might have some things you could borrow - maybe drop hints about your tight budget LOL
i am a student so know what its like trying to be frugal with the spend but we are lucky in that parents have helped us with the big spends and we set up a bank account, saved £20 a week and then went shopping when i was about 34 weeks for things.
we seem to have soooooo much stuff just need the baby now come on hurry up!!

    So true!

I don't think my baby's head is engaged, but apparently they usually don't engage until labour in second pregnancies. Doesn't stop me from examining myself in the mirror every night and bugging DH with, "I'm sure it has dropped a tiny bit, hasn't it, hasn't it?" :rotfl:

And now even Myleene Klass has had her baby, and she was due after me. Not fair :p
