SeptemberBaby wrote: »Oh dear, a lady from my antenatal class broke down in tears last night as we were discussing PND and apparently she had a still birth a few years back at 25 weeks. It was heartbreaking but its brought lots of fears to the surface for me. Having only just become settled in this pregnancy at 22 weeks (after a m/c at 10 weeks last year) I can't help thinking about all the things that can go wrong from now on.
And I know what you mean, even when you get past the early weeks, there's no getting away from the worrying, right up until the baby's out and in your arms (then you start worrying again, which will go on for, ooh, another 60 years or so :rotfl: )
I have to admit I have my paranoid moments too. I was reading about Annie Lennox the other day, and apparently she had a stillborn baby in very late pregnancy as he got wrapped in his cord and didn't make it. I also know someone in real life that this has happened to, and it completely and utterly freaks me out, it really does. (My DS was born with the cord around his neck, and needed help breathing when he was born. I don't know what the chances are of it happening again.)
Then I try to be rational (what's that then :rotfl: ) and tell myself that the chances of things going drastically wrong are absolutely minuscule, so there's no point worrying about it. But yes, pregnancy is really the time when you never stop worrying.0 -
Congratulations to BumpyBecky, Slapps and keatergreyhound.
I too am RH neg, and in my prev pg I only had the anti-D jab after I had given birth (both times to RH + babies).
I am not having the anti-jabs whilst pg this time. If my baby is born +, then I will have it.
It is not complusary, but do talk to your MW about it.0 -
Hi Guys. I'm feeling rather hot today. Only 5 weeks til due date, so I know it's not too long that I have to survive in the hot weather- especially as the weather forcast is rubbish for this weekend. I hope that you are all feeling ok.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030

Thanks, Dormouse. I so long to be one of those women without a care in the world. Sometimes I feel that if I don't worry then something will definately happen because I haven't worried!

Curious George, it sounds more like acid reflux than sickness - have you tried gaviscon? Poor you.....I've got jaffa cakes if you want a couple!
Hope the blood tests go okay, I've got veins that are difficult to find too, and I know how horrible it is, but the last nurse I went to was fab, she found one straight away. Hope yours is the same. Funny how we don't flinch at the thought of pushing a baby out of our nether regions, but yet we're terrified of a tiny needle isn't it lol!
Thanks, i will look it up but i think ive had acid reflux before and im getting so much heartburn at the moment that i might as well say i have rennies as a snack!
i will ask my midwife at the 16 week antenatal next wednesday.
whats happening is i am actually violently sick, all liquids ive drunk come back and then a bucket full of acid that just burns so much i can barely breathe while its going on.... it sucks
on the plus side i had to go to the blood clinic to have my tests and they were brilliant! the woman took one look at me and asked if i needed to lay down! (i dont think i looked particularly nervous... maybe i was already pale!)
and she had all 3 syringes full out of me before i knew it, no problems at all...
the last few people that have tried have turned me into a pin cushion, bruised the hell out of me and then were unable to get enough!
and one of them actually made me pass out!!!0 -

It's not the heat but the lack of ... air I suppose. Horrible. I have been woken up by the heat the past two nights. Roll on the weekend. I was just thinking 10 mins ago how nice it would be to be cold...
And I have the whole of summer yet to come!!:wall:0 -
Not money saving at all (although maybe sanity saving) but Tesco have those tower fan thingies on offer for £20 - brilliant for keeping Mums to be cool, and also great for cooling the baby's room down over summer."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

oh whilst I remember anyone know risks with pregnancy and children who have been around slapped cheek syndrome?
I had a slapped cheek scare a couple of months ago (I was 15-16 weeks or so). Most people are immune to it anyway (turned out I was too), most don't even realise it, so even though there is a small risk, it is very very small. But as I said, being in the last trimester you should be fine.
(Just call me Dr Dormouse :rotfl: )0
