claire - there are so many nappies that its really best if you get an advisor out to show you some types. This means you can see and feel the different types and "Play" with them to see how they work. Then you can decide which you like best. I love prefolds which are flat and fold up to put in a wrap, they dry quick and are easy to use but some people just dont want to have to fold them up etc. Also terries are very versitile. If you want easy to use though you can get the all in ones which cost a little more, take longer to dry but are very quick to put on :)

contact somewhere like lollipop or babykind to get an advisor out for free info :)
  • Hi
Birth went really well spent all day saturday scrubbing the house top to bottom.. sat down for dinner at asbout 9.oopm started getting backache and twinges. by 1.30 they were getting painfull so phoned hospital and they said they were fully booked and as my waters hadn't yrt broken then to stay at home.... 2.30am lots of blood (she had broken her placenta instead of the water) called hospital again and they said come in ASAP. Had an examination once there and was told that i done all the hard stuff at home and was 8 1/2cm dialated (sp?). 2 hours later out popped babe.
    Tiger-Lily arrived 20th May 2007 6lb 5oz

Where do we order these quick births? I've looked on the internet and through my leaflets, but see nothing apart from the usual HOURS of pain and myriad of medication...
Not that I want it too quick, my hospital is a good 40 minute drive away and I don't fancy delivering on the M3!
    Congratulations tequilla_slammer2002.

yup I want one of these quick births too - and as I'm only 5 minutes from the hospital I have no worries about giving birth in the car :D

    congrats Tequila :T

I want the sort of birth where you're not even sure if you're having contractions and then woah, there's a baby, caught just in time by my OH or something. It plays out beautifully in my head :)

    Congratulations tequila :j

Chicken - uuurrrgh I am off it as well, used to be the only meat we really ate often. Addicted to beef, served any way, I could eat it for breakfast. Steak, mince, pie, lasagne, burger - yum yum yum. An orange juice addiction is creeping up slowly I think, I started buying the odd small carton here and there, and then a multipack (to save money paying 50 p each at work - very MSE :A) and now, I have two small cartons in the fridge at work and am contemplating popping out to get a big one as well in case I finish both this afternoon.

The haribo craving is subsiding, thank god as I am not sure when I look in the mirror what is bump and what is fat. Hmm, could get some wine gums while I'm out though. Or jelly babies... yummy...

What was your bump like at 20 weeks? I know we will all vary - but how else do you compare

at 20 weeks my bump was still very squidgy and below my tummy button and most of my friends said you couldn't tell I was pregnant I just looked like I'd put on a muffin top

at 24 weeks I popped and the bump moved upwards and out more and is now much more football-like and I can't really wear anythign no-maternity now - although everyone still says I don't look very big (I feel like a whale...)

I have barely put on any weight though cos of MS etc so I'm 5'6" and 10 stone (most of that put on in the last 4 weeks) and still fit into a non-maternity size 10 except for the bump IYSWIM

i know that there are the classic signs of pregnancy, ie. missed period, sickness, tender breasts. Was wondering if anybody else had any other signs in early pregnancy (however embarrassing!) as i haven't missed my period yet and am keen for things to look out for.

    Thanks

I just felt different (very difficult to describe) and knew from 5 days before my period was due. I did have some implantation bleeding 9 days after ovulation. I also has a slight metalic taste in my mouth and my sense of smell was and still is much more senstive.

Best of luck and fingers crossed you get what you want.
