Also are muslin squares useful? people have mentioned then to me but I haven't got a clue! If so how many should I have and any ideas as to price?
I know some people swear by muslin squares, but I honestly never bought a single one. Don't know whether a bottle-fed baby would need them more, or whether it's the fact that DS wasn't a particularly pukey baby (thank goodness for that :p).

They're quite expensive AFAIK, so we just had bibs and towels when needed. We never used reusable nappies though, so I can't comment on that side of using muslins

Hey hope everyones ok, i told my 2 girls that they are going to have another brother or sister, my husband left it up to me cos he didn't want to be faced with the 'how did the baby get in there?' question, tho my kids were far to excited about having a little baby then care about details, my oldest is only 5.
    _______________________________________________________________

I told my eldest (dd is 4 and a half) she's been really excited trying to help us choose names etc for the last couple of weeks but yesterday she suddenly started crying! When I asked what was wrong, she told me she was scared the doctor was going to cut me open to get the baby out! Course I told her the doctor wouldn't be doing that but she then wanted to know EXACTLY how the baby was going to get out, and wouldn't accept a vague answer. I told her there is a special place for babies to come out and that it wont hurt me(I wish!) She is still asking her dad, because I don't think she believes me:cool:

I had my 30wk MW appt today and she confirmed my suspicions - baby is breech, and has been this way for 3 weeks now :(

I'm trying not to worry - she's shown me a way to kneel with my backside in the air which is meant to help them turn, so at least I can feel like I'm doing something about it. I really, really don't want a section though, I'm dreading my consultant appointment in 4 weeks in case he pushes me in that direction. Everyone send me baby-flipping vibes, please!

Otherwise everything is dandy - blood pressure not even as high as it was previously so there's some good news. My MW is so lovely, she's really down to earth and reassuring, and she is fine with just having a cuppa and a chat about stuff. Nice when I'm having a panic that I'm now into single figures - only 9 weeks to go, and it was only 5 minutes ago I came shuffling into this thread because after finding out I was pregnant the Lose Weight thread seemed somehow inappropriate!

I hope everyone else is feeling good :)

My midwife has been out today and recommended Spatone, if I need iron supplements, as they are an easier absorbed form and less likely to cause side-effects.

I had to have these during my last pregnancy, they are little sachets that you pour into a glass of squash, you cant really taste anything different but you do get the metallic taste in your mouth afterwards (but a lot of people get that a lot anyway)
if i have to have supplements again this time round i will definitely be using spatone

Eels - dont worry! still plenty of time for that baby to turn... just make sure you get yourself a good magazine while your sat on all fours with your bum waving in the breeze ;)

Thanks for your exercise tips!! Esp about the Davina workout, I was just looking at it before I read your posts and wondering whether it would be any good....might get a free DVD trial somewhere to try it out! (Very MSE!). Went for a good walk yesterday but I can feel the effects in my legs today.......
Found out I can't be that big too and that my bump was the talk of the playground (?!).....apparently my friend says the consensus is I can't really be 6 months because I'm not big enough......I wondered why people kept asking how many weeks I was lol :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Has anyone braved out an aquasize class yet? Debating whether it is worth splashing out on a cossie!

does anyone else have weird food things at the mo? It's not cravings so much as the opposite - I can't bear the texture of chicken any more, I've gone off tea and only want to drink coffee (having never been a coffee drinker). There are lots of things that I like the thought of but as soon as I put it in my mouth I just think euck  food's really boring as I just don't fancy eating very much...

Well, last night hubby commented that he may have to take over the cooking for the rest of the pregnancy (result!!) as he can't stand the concoction's I've been making. I have no idea what he meant, as the food I serve is perfectly edible ;).
I had a huge love of the barley drink I use as a coffee substitute up to last week, but that's subsided now.
And chicken IS disgusting (isn't that scary - is it our bodies way of telling us the chicken meat we consume is not good for you?!! Maybe we should listen...)
And yes, I do have pickled gherkins in my fridge :D

I am completely obsessed with rice. Just can't get enough of it. Oh, that and apple juice, which I am drinking by the gallon!! Have gone off chocolate (sob!) which just makes me feel sick now. Also we had a BBQ on Sunday and I couldn't manage any of the meat, so just had a big plate of salad!!

Am a bit worried that I am not getting all of the right nutrients. Have gone off all dairy food, it makes me feel really sick, and am not eating that much protein. Midwife said not to worry too much tho, as long as I am still eating something. Baby will act like a parasite and take what it needs first.
