*sigh* It's 3am and I STILL can't sleep. Getting some serious practice in for this newborn sleepless nights malarkey. It's not as if I'm not tired - I'm exhausted. Just too hot/too cold/too sore on my left/dead leg on my right/overtired/baby wriggling etc etc. :wall:
COME ON TUESDAY! Hope Welshlassie's doing good, I reckon she'll beat me for sure0 -
Sorry to disappoint ladies, but I'm still here. I finished work at 2:30 and then had loads of stuff to do on the way home. We then had SIL and BIL over for a curry to celebrate me finishing work. I had a hotter curry than usually (normally a strictly Korma girl) but it hasn't worked as all I ended up with last night was dreadful wind and acid heartburn.
I'm off to get Harry Potter shortly and then to get my tyres checked as I seem to have a slow puncture and it would be just my luck that I go into labour and we have to change the tyre so best be safe than sorry.
After my show on Thursday I'm beginning to think I'm going to be another 2 weeks, which would be lovely to get loads of stuff done, but I'm so impatient, I WANT A BABY NOW!!!
Have loads to get done today, so will try to pop on later so not to keep you in suspense (unless anything does happen!!)0 -
Come on welshlassie- dig the garden, that's what I think helped me along, however I was OD and had the sweep as well. I know all about feeling impatient I couldn't wait for my little man to arrive. Good luck anyway.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030

please anyone ignore people who scare monger like that, its so easy to take it bad when u should be enjoying those small pleasures
I hate people who do that, i mean.. whats the point?
who benefits from that conversation? (no offence meant to your aunt) but even if your stupid enough to actually think like that you should keep it to yourself!!
we had everything before my DDs due date, but because someone had scared my OH (at the time) he refused to buy the pram until after she was born, i tried to reason how ridiculous this was as we had a house full of baby gear and a bedroom with a made up cot in it... so what difference would that pram make now?
but he wasnt having it...
and anyway, if this superstition had any foundation, then surely nobody would have a healthy second child unless they threw away the first ones pram!
ive still got my DDs pram.... and its graduated from the shed to the spare room for cleaning up and using again!
dont take this the wrong way Welshlassie.... but im sorry your still here
i had big hopes for you yesterday!0 -
My MIL and FIL paid for our pram system but we arent really talking at the moment so i dont know where it would go - she would blow a fuse if it went to my mum and dads - the argument is that they say we treat them like "second class citizens" and my parents liek royalty (((((((((((sigh)))))))))) how sad does that sound....... dont really know what to say to them tbh...
I hope they come to their senses soon...

just wondered how all the prospective grandparents, aunts and uncles are behaving, and to have a good old moan about my lot.
my mum is scaring me. She keeps referring to the bump as 'my baby' (as in her baby) and generally acting a bit like Dr May from Eastenders. However, as she is the only person in our families who has shown any inclination to love and/or buy anything for him or her, I am humouring her and am actually grateful.
My dad keeps telling me that i'm wrong about everything (eg wanting to breastfeed, use reusables and stay at home) and that I will find out after the birth. He says from now on, the baby will get the obligatory £25 birthday and christmas cheques instead of me, even though he gets the presents from his parents and i get nothing from them because i am 'only' the grandchild. so from my fathers side of the family, i will never receive another present. If only the same was true with 'advice' and phonecalls.
My FIL has recently had a stepgrandchild and so is not remotely interested in his blood grandchild. or his son.
My MIL bemoans the fact that she is too young to be a grandmother at 65, advises me that she smoked and drank all the way through both her pregancies, even while in labour. We sent her a scan picture and 1 month later she wrote us a letter on a dirty piece of paper, with one sentence about the baby and an A4 side about how much she is loving Dr Who at the moment. She has very kindly promised not to smoke whilst holding the baby.
My SIL, who we were really close to, has not spoken to us since we announced the pregnancy. We don't know why. I don't think she is jealous. I am wondering if she is disappointed that we are out of the party-attending era?
My Brother, who phones once a year to show off about how rich he is and how he owns 2 properties in Brighton and holidays 10,000 times a year has said he doesnt like the city we live in, and so will probably not come to see the baby at all. We are relieved, as whenever we see him, we wish we had been at the dentists having root canal work done instead.
Sometimes i want to cut all ties with all of them (apart from my mum, who i just want to tone it down a bit):j Baby bonce was born on Christmas morning after a ridiculously short labour and no pain relief! If only losing the baby weight was as easy!:T0 -
Hi Gang,
I thought i would finally join all you lovely ladies and add my name to the list.I usually lurk on here daily and rarely add a post.:o But hey time to get out of that habit i think!
I am between 14 and 15 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. I already have one girl (4.5yrs) and one boy (2yrs). Unsure of dates despite a scan last Monday, they say the next scan at 20 weeks ish will give a better idea! (??)
I have read back a few pages and already feel excited about getting to know you all, and eagerly waiting for news from those like welshlassie who are in that exciting but painfully slow place of being due and every minute feels like an hour. Good luck to you all.

 Jbbonce!
I won't go on about how fab both sides of my family have been. Maybe it will be different after your babe is born? Baby Bonce is sure to have lots of lovely virtual aunties on this site x
Congratulations, Sunny Angel and welcome! x
Blimey, my babe has definately found her feet now! Sometimes my body actually moves sideways when she kicks! Such a weird and bizarre feeling but extremely comforting at the same time.
Still not feeling that my tum is as big as it should be (that old bump envy thing again!) even though it measures fine with the MW. Will I all of a sudden balloon in my last 10 weeks?

*sigh* It's 3am and I STILL can't sleep. Getting some serious practice in for this newborn sleepless nights malarkey. It's not as if I'm not tired - I'm exhausted. Just too hot/too cold/too sore on my left/dead leg on my right/overtired/baby wriggling etc etc. :wall:
Was thinking of switching on the laptop, but then decided to floss instead
:rotfl: Had an absolutely crappy night, just couldn't sleep properly at all: completely exhausted, but just could not fall into deep sleep. Hope we have a better night tonight!
Welshlassie, I know all about being impatient.Give it a couple of days, I'm sure the baby is seriously thinking about it now!
Jbbonce, OMG! I know I have certain issues with my family and in-laws, but they're not as bad as that. I don't know what it is about people having babies that sometimes makes family members say weird things/behave weirdly
DH is freaking me out: he's convinced that the baby's coming soon! This wasn't helped by the fact that I was having funny twinges all day yesterday (not cramps/contractions, just twinges), and I can swear my bump has dropped a bit! According to my book, it's not even supposed to drop in second pregnanciesso no idea what's going on, but it definitely looks lower than usual. And I'm not even 35 weeks yet

my mum is scaring me. She keeps referring to the bump as 'my baby' (as in her baby)
my (now ex) mother in law did that when i was expecting her grandchild,
It sounds petty but i hated it, it really bugged me and i couldnt explain why,
i just used to grit my teeth and remember phones can always be switched off and doors can always remain unanswered when she got too much.My dad keeps telling me that i'm wrong about everything (eg wanting to breastfeed, use reusables and stay at home)
sorry, but balls to people who tell you all your decisions are wrong, what do they know? if you want to breastfeed, use reusuable nappies, stay at home forever or go hang gliding 20 minutes after you give birth... then you go right ahead. your baby, your responsibilty and that means YOU know best!My FIL has recently had a stepgrandchild and so is not remotely interested in his blood grandchild. or his son.
he will come round, and if he doesnt... then who's loss is it really? My MIL bemoans the fact that she is too young to be a grandmother at 65, advises me that she smoked and drank all the way through both her pregancies, even while in labour. We sent her a scan picture and 1 month later she wrote us a letter on a dirty piece of paper, with one sentence about the baby and an A4 side about how much she is loving Dr Who at the moment. She has very kindly promised not to smoke whilst holding the baby.
see my answer above for your FIL, the same applies here really! (as it does for your brother too)
and damn right she shouldnt smoke while holding the baby... or even in the same house! cheeky woman!
and too young at 65? yeeeeeah right! My SIL, who we were really close to, has not spoken to us since we announced the pregnancy. We don't know why. I don't think she is jealous. I am wondering if she is disappointed that we are out of the party-attending era?
does your SIL have any kids? she might be broody as hell and desperate for a baby so finds it hard to speak to you now... who can tell!
relatives suck!
thats what friends are for... so you can pick your own "family"!0
