Hi
I just posted this on another thread.Could you wait to see the final version of badges first?
If some forum users really don't want them on their profile we'll look into getting something set up so it can be switched offCould you do with a Money Makeover?

Much simpler idea, and probably more popular, would be to not have them in the first place!0 -
Is MSE using A/B testing to decide if badges incentivise forum interaction?
I know MSE uses A/B testing on its email to test different headlines and which generates most click thrus so would explain the way badges have been appearing randomly.0 -

I think there are two points being made here, and that replies to only one.
Some people don't want these on their own profile, and some people don't want them on anybody's profile.
I'm in both groups.
The reason for not having them at all is they add to the visual clutter that just takes up space and uses extra data capacity.
This forum has achieved the same position as various others such as giffgaff, though they will sometimes deny it or demand screenshots, and already alluded to above - it is possible to have a screenful of the forum displayed with no actual post text content showing at all, such material being just above and just below the screen edges.
That means much more scrolling up and down, and it can be slower to read.
Given the chances that more and more people are viewing on phones and tablets, maybe the forum could have a stripped down mobile version that leaves out most of this stuff and the text is a higher proportion of what is left.0 -

Haven't we been led to believe that most of these recent changes have been to make the site better for people using mobiles and tablets?
Can't see that myself - now worse for me on a tablet.0 -

I reverted to the old version, as they obviously hadn't finished that job yet.
Your comment doesn't convince me to try again.0 -
