Just tried wewantanycar they offer more but still not what I would expect.0

I put my car details into the WBAC website in to get an idea of how much it would be worth. They came back with £675.
Not too bad for a 10 year old avensis with over 130k on the clock.
The only problem is, I then went into the Toyota garage and during the conversation, asked them about it. They checked, and came back with a private sale figure of £1,500 - £2,000!!! They wouldn't take it off me, but I'll not be going to WBAC.
Oh, and GeeGee, I think you might have missed Will saying that the broker gave him more than WBAC for his old car. How does that make Will a shill?

I bought a car early last year for a mate - local selling it privately wanted £1200 which seemed cheap for the make and age of the car - it was a Fiat in good condition. Did a few checks on the web and private sale value was pretty much around £1500 everywhere I looked. Then went on Webuyanycar, and the owner had had a valuation done and been offered £750 even before they'd seen it. Got it for £1150 as needed a new tyre, everyone's a winner, except the rip off merchants on the web.0

You're always going to get the bottom end trade price from car buying outfits, and it's usually much better to sell privately if you've got the time.0

Yes but that isn't the issue. If you are happy with the price offered then fine. I find it morally reprehensible however, that their 'experts' will go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb finding the most minuscule of faults and knock off highly excessive amounts of money.0 -
Oh definitely. I'm also suspect of the base computer price changing between getting the quote (valid for 7 days) and the sale a couple of days later. And I don't think there's any excuse for the purchasing fee or faster payment fee (as in, we'll process it 2 days later if you don't knock that extra sum off).0

Yup "Market Value Fluctation, your car is now worth £50 less". I wonder if they've ever sent one out that says "Market Value Fluctuation, your car is now worth £50 more"? Doubt it.0 -

I mean he's a shill for the broker he promotes in all his posts, not for WeBuyAnyCar! Look at his post history and you'll see what I mean.
Oh, and his name, 'Will' rhymes with 'shill'. Conclusive, eh?0 -

I've had it, via email, a week or so later, when they wrote to say that the offer had increased. All automated and linked to market levels so fair enough.0
