I had a bad shop the other day followed by four great shops :)

The bad shop was because I did a clothes shop, health shop and toiletries shop all in one go so had a multitude of vouchers to hand over.

The young girl got confused by it all and called for the supervisor. To cut a long story short, I ended up with only my groceries and asked the supervisor to void the rest of the stuff as she wouldn't scan more than 1 voucher from the HB and Sb/Quits.

She actually only wanted to knock £4.75 off a £69 spend
I had only planned on spending £20 in total!

Was gutted by this and felt really down, I also felt I had made myself "seen" and it would be more difficult for me to shop there in the future and pretend ignorance of the voucher rule as she proceeded to point the so called rule out to me (10% yet again).

It was my own fault as I find it hard to back down and am loathe to spend anything but the minimum in Tesco's.

I definitely wouldn't shop there if they weren't so lax with their voucher use, no way!

Anyway, I have now realised it was rather stupid on my part to jeopordize my visibility and have decided to only do 1 kind of coupon set per shop.
I only have access to 3 tesco's in my immediate area so I shall keep alow profile from now on :D

Hiya ragtimeplayer - I had a knock back last week too and have found that having my shopping delivered and spending less than £50 and gaining £40 in deal vouchers (1,000 points) is actually rather less stressful. It has also given me some much needed free time to concentrate on other things too.

There is a life away from the toiletry aisles

ps congrats on giving up smoking - just seen your sig

Mama...have noticed some of the previous t-shirt wearing staff now have *till-uniforms*......any significance to this?

Or are they just till-trained now?

This is is probably because of what I said before, a lot of checkout staff were wearing them because they were more comfortable but now we are not allowed to wear them at all. Shop floor staff are still allowed to wear them.

Unsure if this is true or where the best place to put it is, but when you reuse your plastic bags and get green points, you get more (think it was 4) if you use non tesco's, damn it, I'll have to do a shop in sainsbury's they are completely different (bright orange) and much easier for the SA to spot than using somerfield or asda :rotfl:

I have been reading this thread and picking up some great tips from you all - but still yet to do a good shop. I have been searching for the £6 off £30 with Tess Daly on that apparently work on anything - without success. Then this morning by OH walks in clutching 3 of them as proud as punch that he had found me some and went on to explain that there was 'a stack of them just lying there!!!'. Didnt have the heart to tell him they expired yesterday!!!!!

Oh well its the thought that counts!

It doesn't make any difference what sort of bag but it is up to the SA how many green points to put on, so be nice to them and you might get more!

    Thats very true.
I did a shop last week with a surly young girl, I had two bags and she put 2 points on.

Had a shop last night with a brilliant scan happy young boy, I had 6 bags and he put 10 on!

(I didn't need to use 6 bags though, I just stretched my 3 bag shopping to fit it into 6 :p )
