I found 2 piles of the H&B that run out on 8/7 today on the pharmacy counter in Sale, Manchester yesterday. Typical they put them out with one week to go![/

    I received these on Saturday!

Thank you very much for posting it to me, it was very kind of you!
  • i've got a raft of tesco baby & toddler club coupons today .. they're all for points thou, they start 99...so do i need to buy the item to get the points?

also there the 'baby beginings' basked that says i need to buy the newborn nappies to get it, do i really?

orrrr has anyone tried/is it allowed to buy nappies, then take them back?

(i'd send hubby in saying he'd bought the wrong size cause he's a clueless man! that should work)
(i'd do Huggies newborn nappies at £3.75, i get the baby beginnings basket, and 200 points..converting to vouchers i'm getting £8 + the beginnings basked for spending £3.75...then take the nappies back to get it all for free)

my baby beginnings basket coupon would not scan and others have said the same. if you haven't bought the nappies then you wouldn't be able to get the £11.96 or whatever credited back by CS.

yes you can take nappies back, i did it yesterday. i said i'd bought them for my friend who had a baby last week but her baby is enormous and needs size 2 nappies (or you could say they'd already bought enough size 1 and want size 2 instead). in my case it was true, friend's baby is huge, i'm rubbish at lying and never take things back for a refund, unlike my sister who buys everything just for the points then gets refunds.

size 2 nappies are a different pack size, they cost nearly £6 so it would not be a straight swap therefore you think it's easier just to get a refund, and then buy the other suze in your main shop. say you're pushed for time so you can't be faffed with going over to get a size 2 pack now, and then doing the rest of your shopping later.

incidentally if you were very cheeky you could always take the coupon booklet out of your beginnings basket and use a £1 huggies coupon when you buy the newborn nappies :rotfl:

Well if they overcharge you on the basket - i.e not taking the baby voucher off should they not be giving you 'double the difference'???
(I have not had one of these baby vouchers.)

you register with baby & toddler club to get them, they're not over charging, just not allowing you to use the voucher to get them for free..if that makes sence
yes you can take nappies back, i did it yesterday.
i'm going to try this tomorrow, the cheapest i can see online are the size 1, at £3.75, for that i'll get 200 extra points, a free baby beginings basket and then get hubby to take the nappies back and put on his best cluless expression (which shouldn't be a problem when he hears i've bought nappies! we don't have children!)

I don't beleive i'm the first to think of this so if anyones tried and it doesn't work please let me know asap xx

Well I didn't make it to use my last coupons, had Justin Timberlake concert on Saturday, had to drop kids off and get ready! Then Sunday, took my oldest dd out to a surprise Cheerleading competition in Brighton!!

Today I went in at last, got almost 1000 worth of points combining pampers and huggies coupons and managed to get £16 off my bill using 3 coupons! Got my 5p petrol coupon and on the other card I received 100 points wys £3 on kids lollies! Hubby got 30 points on fruit juice which I also used today!

I hope they don't bring the HB out for a while! It'll be nice to have a break :D

I've got lots of baby coupons to use as well ... but my freind is due in October so I'm making up a baby hamper and so she will get lots of nappies and wipes in it whilst I get the points.

I've also got lots of cheap bits off ebay like baby photo albums etc and the hamper is getting really big now.

She'll think I'm super generous ... whereas I'm actually quite selfish as the hamper wouldn't be so big if it wasn't for the points, lol :D

The very best advice is to ask at customer service what their voucher policy is before shopping, then stick to their policy, all stores are different. When your a bit braver you can try to get away with things that arn't strickly allowed (ie my tesco don't take internet coupons, but they do take the 40p pigsback internet coupon cause printed in colour it looks reall).
If in doubt, after checking with customer service, when you get to the till just hand over your coupons and say, can i use any of these...they'll give you back any you can't use normally

    good luck!

Also if you join the various baby clubs now in your name you will lots of small extras to put in your basket as well - Morrisons have one which you can join online, Bounty, organix, Cow and Gate etc. Also I think if you look in bobsfreestuff there is a section for baby free stuff

Perhaps someone has a list of useful links in their favourites?

If you are going to a new Tesco you have not visited before you could try ringing the customer service before you set off to check what that stores policy is -also a good idea to get the persons name who you speak to because if you get unlucky at the till and your coupons are met with scorn and derision you can say "well I rang this morning/yesterday/wheenever and I spoke to Sabrina (all CS girls are named after witches) and she said you can take 10%/ just one coupon/as many as you like so long as you stock the product and the coupon is in date"
Or you can use the combined knowlege of MSE and list a message up saying "Does anyone know what the coupon policy of Tescos at Hedgerow under Construction on a Tuesday afternoon in July when the sun is shining, is and which till girl do I avoid like the plague" Someone is bound to know .
Or you can just test the water. In a strange Tescos I buy a selection of small items, maybe £3 worth, choose a young till girl or even better a boy, hand over a few small value coupons at the till, maybe £1 or £2 worth and just ask if they can take them. My excuse is that I go around in a fog without my glasses so I dont really know what I am giving the till girl so please can she try scanning them. Even in my little Tesco midweek I often manange to do this and after all the few coupons are still worth a 33% or 50% reduction off a your shopping bill.
