If you are going to a new Tesco you have not visited before you could try ringing the customer service before you set off to check what that stores policy is -also a good idea to get the persons name who you speak to because if you get unlucky at the till and your coupons are met with scorn and derision you can say "well I rang this morning/yesterday/wheenever and I spoke to Sabrina (all CS girls are names after witches) and she said you can take 10%/ just one coupon/as many as you like so long as you stoke the product and the coupon is in date"
Or you can use the combined knowlege of MSE and list a message up saying "Does anyone know what the coupon policy of Tescos at Hedgerow under Construction on a Tuesday afternoon in July when the sun is shining, is and which till girl do I avoid like the plague" Someone is bound to know .
Or you can just test the water. In a strange Tescos I buy a selection of small items, maybe £3 worth, choose a young till girl or even better a boy, hand over a few small value coupons at the till, maybe £1 or £2 worth and just ask if they can take them. My excuse is that I go around in a fog without my glasses so I dont really know what I am giving the till girl so please can she try scanning them. Even in my little Tesco midweek I often manange to do this and after all the few coupons are still worth a 33% or 50% reduction off a your shopping bill.

These quits don't expire until end of October. I'd actually hold on until there are some other valid coupons produced shown on the first page of this thread, to coupon combine for maximum savings/free stuff. Nothing at present other than quits.
  • The very best advice is to ask at customer service what their voucher policy is before shopping, then stick to their policy, all stores are different. When your a bit braver you can try to get away with things that arn't strickly allowed (ie my tesco don't take internet coupons, but they do take the 40p pigsback internet coupon cause printed in colour it looks reall).
If in doubt, after checking with customer service, when you get to the till just hand over your coupons and say, can i use any of these...they'll give you back any you can't use normally

    good luck!

Brilliant advice Littlejaffa she should ask first as some stores are more lax than others and itll be no defence when questioned by the t police i imagine

If only like other stores people have mentioned they all had the policy in each store displayed there'd be no confusion

    Hi

I've just started this coupon/vouchers stuff this week. I bought a couple of magazines (spent a quid or two and got vouchers worth double what I laid out). I've never used coupons until now but seeing all the posts here I feel an obsession coming on.....

I used to work at my local Extra Tesco at night and I never learned how to use the tills, but your advice about which CS to choose seems good.

I went into my (local to work T Express in the City of London) where they had loads of the quit smoking packs. I asked if I could take more than one as there were a group of us at work wanting to quit and I was given 5 packs. Went back a few minutes later and said the same thing and was given another handful. Now, I can use the money off for toiletries/vitamins but I don't smoke or know anyone who uses the Nicotenell patches. What can I do with them? Could I put them on Ebay? Sorry to say I'm an ebay virgin (seller) too....

I'm in the same situation too re nicotinell patches, have about 100; think I will offer them on PTS, then the leftover will be eBayed. Don't worry about being an ebay virgin; check out the boards on ebay for useful tips.;)

It's true, it is an obsession.......but a very cost effective one!!!:j
