Madeleine's Fund : Leaving No Stone Unturned

From what I have read on the situation, there isn't actually any evidence that she has been abducted other than she is missing.
Initially there were reports that there was forced entry but these have since been dismissed and the room was apparently left unlocked (why anyone would leave there room unlocked when there are likely to be valuables, let alone sleeping children, is beyond stupidity).
I have also read that the parents did admit that they didn't check up on
them like they said they did. There are reports that sniffer dogs followed her scent to a shop but it was lost at that point. Surely the person in the shop or even someone from the hotel must have seen something, I would imagine around 7pm when she is roughly supposed to have vanished, that there would be people walking about and have seen something.
I have read from a couple of places that there had been major building work going on nearby and that large holes (or foundations) were only filled in a couple of days after she went missing. It doesn't take a great leap of imagination to think that the wee girl might have woken up, left the room herself and walked about trying to find her parents, fell down a hole and injured herself and not been spotted by workmen.
THANK YOU
I really think that the concetration should be on finding Maddy and not her *abductor* whom as you say quite possibly doesnt exist!
With this in mind it kinda questions their (the McCann's) latest *bright* idea even more, dont you think?:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Hmmm - so the bank wont know where the money came fromI hope you dont work in my branch
Secondly, for a couple who didnt want the fund they dont seem to have taken too much time thinking about their upcoming funded *travels* did they?
Thirdly, do you know this family? If not then how do you know how the fund was instigated?:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Or I'll come round your houses and stamp on all your toys" The ONE, the ONLY, the LEGENDARY Gene Hunt :heart2:0 -

How would a cheque be "anonymous"? Cheques don't have to be paid into an account so would not need to be returned, simply not paid in.
BACS payments can only be made in the first place if you know the recipient's bank details and so the family would have to provide that information.
The receiving bank could trace a BACS payment back to the sending institution and so they could be returned.0 -

After reading through these threads i have come to the conclusion that obviously everyone hopes that Madeline is found safe and well, and the majority of people wonder why on earth they left them, this issue is obviously one which will be addressed at a later date. The thing which concerns me about all this is if it had happened to a child from a family of a lower social background would the same sort of appeal, and publicity have happened.Sadly i think not,a lot of strings have been pulled so any sort of appeal should help all families.I am also wondering if she is still alive,i have a niece who is the same age and who is really bright and chatty and anyone who abducted her would have a hard job silencing her in public places cos she never shuts up.Lets just hope she is found soon!to be updated:;)0

The McCanns did NOT ASK for a fund. The money is pouring in from well-wishers and companies whether they want it or not.
They did not say they needed one.
They did not ask for one.
It has to be managed somehow, so a fund has been set up.
The fund will also benefit other missing kids.
If they did not set up a fund they would be criticized (for handling the money pouring in themselves). If they set up a fund they are criticized.
How can money pour in if there isn't anywhere for it to pour in to? Are you suggesting that well wishers have simply sent cheques to the McCanns c/o Mark Warner holiday resort?
The cheques don't have to be cashed.
If they didn't want the money then it would be easy enough to tell the media that. I haven't seen the McCanns asking people NOT to send in money.0 -

My 11 year old son just told me at bedtime, tomorrow he's been asked to wear a yellow t-shirt with the rest of the school, and to take in 50p for the privelage which is going to be donated to the fund.
He isnt going to, not because I dont care, but because I honestly cant see how this will help Maddy.
My heart goes out to her and her siblings. God bless.0 -
seriously aside, enough money has been placed on the table for information etc so I dont think this could be a solution. maybe oif the excess could help the impoverished in Africa who are dying trough lack of food and water and not because their parents popped out for a feed.0
