Madeleine's Fund : Leaving No Stone Unturned

I really feel for the mcanns but at the same time think they were negligent in leaving their 3 kids alone.I don't think madeleine is alive, and i can't understand how they can leave their twins in the kids club at the complex right now for hours on end.I know this sounds critical, and my heart does go out to them, but if one of my kids had gone missing, the others wouldn't be leaving my side for a very long time:rolleyes:
I'm afraid that like a lot of parents they probably think it's someone elses responsibility to look after their children while they go and do whatever they want. Someone else will never look after your children as well as you would yourself. People think they get what they pay for but they don't.
When children have gone missing in the past it's usually when the parents havn't been watching them closely enough. Sarah Paign was walking through a field on her own at a very young age, those 2 girls that went missing were out all afternoon on their own while their parents had a party. I don't know the story behind Ben Needham but you can bet it was something similar.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
"Almost everyone in Portugal is aware of the abduction of Madeleine McCann, but there are many other missing children in the country whose cases have received little attention.
Now their mothers are criticising the police for not making an effort to trace their young ones.
Filomena Teixeira's 11-year-old son Rui Pedro vanished while walking home from school in the northern town of Lousada in March, 1998. He has never been found."

yes sorry I was crude, however, had it been a kidnap there would normally have been a demand now, so we must assume the worst bearing in mind the time that has passed.
Re: the Garden gnomes, they are usually taken for a joke and sent round the work for fun not for "working" purposes.
Anyway all these media appearances, setting up limited companies etc leads me to conclude that rather than spending their days looking physically, there are holed up in sunny Portugal posing for photographers and signing deals.
I will be proved wrong when there isnt a "Exclusive, Mrs McCanns story" in the News of the World after they discover the body.0 -

I have been reading this forum for quite a while and not wanting to make judgement about any of the issues although I do feel Black Saturn that you should get your facts straight before making any comments. I feel that the Mccanns play a huge part in their daughters disappearance as like most people do, you can not leave children alone. As for Sarah Payne she was not intentionally out on her own she was with her siblings but because she hurt herself that is why she ran off back to her parents through a field leaving her brothers and sisters, and as for Holly and Jessica they were murdered by someone they new, how can you justify saying they had been out all afternoon while there family was partying. They were at an age where they can go out and play.0

They need to do *something* whilst waiting for news so they went to the shrine for some prayer - it is a well known site in Portugal known amongst those who believe in miracles to be a positive place. Again, if they didn't do something with their time they would be criticized for doing 'nothing' and if they do do something with their time (even praying) they are criticized. If they took their twins with them they would be criticized for exposing them to the media etc. If they leave them at the resort being cared for, they are criticized for leaving them alone.
Yes I agree with you they can't do right for doing wrong and it's all very well for us all to watch and maybe criticise but none of us can know how we'd feel. I though can only imagine that at this stage I would not want to be seen in public I'm a kind of 'grief is private' person and I don't think I'd be fit to be seen I'd probably be a mumbling wreck.
My comment wasn't meant to be mean and I know the significance of the shrine but I think I would want to be doing something else.Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)

as i have said before the parents knowingley left there children in an unlocked room with out supervision an appartment they couldnt see the unlocked entrance to either they were seen having a good time not even on tenterhooks just incase something happened they didnt even attempt to move seating position so that they could see the doors there fore IMO they gave no thought to the safety of the children they left it longer and longer to check on the children
now alot have said we cant know how the parents feel unless we have experienced it from my previous post you will know i have felt a little of what they feel even tho under different circumstances
but we can take from the run up before the abduction if it was that that they were in the frame of mind of a person with no responsability or they would not have left the children i think this is the only thing from there actions that anyone can be sure of
after my incedent my daughter never left my side if i left her with my parents which took me a long time to do i was on the phone every 10 mins checking on her i there fore dont understand now how they can leav there twins with anyone i know they will be focused on maddie totally but they must keep focused on the twins for them its all very strange lots of people they dont know cameras reporters ect....
i cant help feel that this situation will have a major impact on there life but even more so as theydont have stability right now or any familiar surroundings
i understand there plight for the european trip but the babies dont need this
and as much as i think they should be prosicuted for neglect do the twins need to loes there mummy an daddy to be shunted to more strangers
im on crossed views now as to maddies hwere abouts i hope that she is found but i have my doubts
i think the pappers are holding back because of the split in veiws there quiet happy at the min to hold the peace but in time im sure that the neglect question will be brought to light in the media
when they do come back to england they will face people who think what they have done is neglect but i think alot of these people an media would leave it be if they as some one suggested admited we made a tragic mistake an to please help
it angers alot that there are thousands of people that cant have children who would make fantastic parents see how the McCanns situation came about
my mum once said to me when my DD was a baby you dont ever leave her in the house alone even to pop next door not even if u have a monitor as you cant hear a fire on a monitor0 -
When they are on the news now, its never mentioned that they left their children alone. besides from when it first happened!! A case of the media being "sensitive" or what??0

Holly and jessica were out doing what most 10 year olds do, walking street, playing etc, they went to see a supposed 'friend/teacher'
I dont know the circumstances around ben needham as i was only young myeslf when he went missing.
I dont get your point anywaysmaybe you should do as greengrass says and get your facts straight coz this is the second or 3rd post where you have got info completely wrong and commented on it, it's not hard to find the right info either.
These children were out playing, not being left alone on their own in a hotel room whilst their parents were having a meal out.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
Well said Astonsmommy!! I have a ten year old daughter myself, we only live in a small culdesac and I do let her out to play knowing there are all sorts of dangers but we have to make our children aware of the dangers. What I wouldnt do is purposely expose her to any danger, i.e leave her alone!!!!!
Sarah Payne, Holly and Jessica are all a completely different kettle of fish to Madeleine.0
