i would like to see them treated the way a `normal` person in this country would be treated, and that means social services getting involved and the possibility of the other 2 kids getting put into care.

just because there doctors ther appear to be above the law and it sucks.

its a fact that if this happened down my road the social services would have been knocking the door down long before now.

    so to sum up,,

i want them to be treated the same as any other `joe` who neglets there kids.

What a lovely kind hearted thing to say

Of course, putting the other two children into care would make everything OK again wouldnt it?

Oh and by the way - SS dont just 'take kids into care' that is the last thing they would do under any circumstance - after they had visited every other option first and it wouldnt happen overnight. SS will probably speak to them at some point, or maybe even have.

(And the McCanns being doctors and wealthy obviously doesnt bother you a bit, does it? ;) )

and it is this reason that they havent had anything said to them.

im getting a bit of deja-vu now but if any poor single mum had done this it would be a different story and you damn well know it.

It is obviously also the reason that you feel so much venim for them.

You wouldnt like me much either, I live in a big house - it has carpets and everything!

I dont believe it would be different. A child is a child. Show me one case the same as this where that has happened?

As I said before - how do you know SS have not spoken to them? Although I suspect that they will be busy dealing with cases where children are actually at risk

I really dont want to get into this debate and be nasty but its true, if this was a single parent and they had gone out to a restaurant and checked on their children occasionally they would be totally slated by everyone, my last thing i have to say is where ever you are you dont leave your children "home alone", poor madeline "if" she is still alive, she doesent know what is happening and why if she is in a strange place, god bless you madeline, children are too precious to be left alone

From being abandoned for the sake of steak and chips with a glass of wine maybe?

so i gather from your replies that to leave 3 kids under 4 in an unlocked hotel room and one gets kidnapped should go unpunished??
maybe they can get some sort of medal for doing it?

Tapas bars dont generally sell steak and chips.

And they are hardly likely to leave their children alone again are they?

I dont believe that punishing them at this time is the right thing to do.

And I think the people on here slating them and saying how good they themselves are, obviously have a lot of issues and low self-esteem.

It s really scraping the barrel, to make yourself look good by comparing yourself to someone who has a missing child.

    Each to their own though.
