If you check the first post in this thread it gives quite a list of companies who use Famac, so that should help you decide. Also one of our regular NI members has compiled a list of companies who DO and who DON'T charge extra for delivery to Northern Ireland. You can find it HERE
Hope this helps in the future0 -
Hi - i am just registered but have been receiving the MSE e-mails for some time - as regards FAMAC you will all be pleased to know that they have now ceased trading and have been taken over by Littlewoods but this still leaves the problem of all the parcels that are stuck in the system inlcuding 3 of mine ordered on-line from boots - i suggest contacting who you have ordered products from recently and re-ordering or getting a credit.0

I believe it's a case of Famac being re-absorbed rather than shutting down - give them a call if you're worried though.0

Useful information, thanks for that!0

Readers Digest also use Famac through White Arrow and even after being told of the bad service that they provide continue to do so0

I may be wrong - but I have heard they have just changed their name...sufferinsnickerinrickrastadley0 -
I placed an order with Homebase on 2nd October with a delivery date of 5th October. Nothing showed up and I've just called Homebase to find out what's going on. They've said that FAMAC have gone into liquidation and that all their deliveries are being picked up by their mainland carrier (Home Delivery Service I think).0

I can confirm that Famac have definately gone into liquadation as they are a customer of the company I work for - it is not jsut a matter of changing names - the Famac operation has been bought out by Home Delivery Network which is a subsidiary of the Littlewoods catalogue group - as I say this is fact not speculation.0

QVC are now using Parcelnet to deliver in N. Ireland - v. quick and efficient0

I have been waiting for a Next order placed on 1st Oct which I haven't received, when I rang I was told Famac will not be delivering anymore orders placed after 25 Sept and Bond delivery are now delivering for them, has anyone had any deliveries from them.0
