Damage limitation maybe. I think it's gone beyond the point of trying to change our minds. Mine anyway. From what I have gathered we live in many different areas. That means it's not the same driver as I know one bad drive can do some damage to a reputation. So they have quite a few bad drivers. Seems a bit too much of a coincidence all these stories.

I don't see citylink being mentioned and I'm sure they have the odd blip. I actually think citylink is amazing. Never any problems, fantastic drivers, all good! It may seem a it too doom and gloom moaning all the time, I like to praise the good guys out there.
  • Anyone know if Dixon's uses Famac to deliver TV's?

I've just witnessed the unbelievable - a Famac driver driving slowly and parking sensibly in a residential area where the children are out playing. Was thinking about ringing to complain about this deviation from their normal procedure when I noticed that he had left the parcel on the front doorstep of the neighbours house where anyone could pick it up, so I'm relieved to see that normal service has been resumed....
  • Hi there

I've been browsing for a while, but have finally signed up :)

I'm currently having problems with Famac too, having ordered a substantial number of things online from the Next Sale to kit my little boy out entirely for next year, and they are yet to turn up - yet I have been charged on my bill and next say that they were dispatched ages ago, a couple of phone calls to Next and I am informed that Famac are investigating it... well now, I am on Maternity leave, so haven't been out at work, but there has been Famac vans outside our house, but not delivering to anyone! I'm beginning to think that they look to see if there is a car outside (I dont drive therefore no car) or if there are any signs of life, and then don't bother to try to deliver! I have had them deliver my stuff previously 6 doors away to people that I have never met before, and left a very expensive mirror sitting in our shed where my husband opened the door to get something and the mirror fell on top of him!

I'll certainly think again before ordering from a company that uses Famac for delivery, they are certainly a waste of a delivery/postal charge...

I'm seriously considering closing my Next account because they use Famac.

Today (22 August) I received - i.e. found on the doorstep - an item which Next dispatched on 25 July. That's more than three weeks, for goodness sake! This is outside Next's two weeks returns period, so it'll be interesting to see what they say if I decide to return it. Come to think of it, I suspect I might have already paid for it when I cleared the balance on my account a couple of days ago.

(The Next website is very poor incidentally. I can find out my account balance, but there seems to be no means of displaying what items made up that balance.)
  • Well most of my items appeared at the end of August, only after complaining twice to Next and leaving numerous messages on Famac's answerphone. Those items that did turn up had their packaging opened! I am still waiting on 7 items that were dispatched on the 20th July. I am so annoyed now, I have told Next that I will not be using their online service again due to the problems with Famac. The lady in Next told me that I could order online and pick up instore, which doesn't suit me as I don't drive and I usually only make large purchases online. I am currently writing a letter of complaint to both Next and Famac, I don't expect a response to the one for Famac as they have yet to answer the phone or return my messages.

Incidently when the packages were finally delivered I met the man at the door and told him I had been waiting over a month for the items, he told me that he had been on holiday for 2 weeks and no one had bothered to do his deliveries in that time, so he was getting a lot of grief from every house he went to...

I also know someone who works for Woolworths who has told me that they are no longer using Famac due to the large number of complaints that they have received from customers about late parcels/damaged goods/missing items.

  • Famac are now claiming that they delivered the remaining items on the 15th August, so there's nothing Next can do about it now but give me a refund... not happy as I really wanted the goods and as they were sale items they cannot send replacements :( The lady from next was extremely apologetic and I told her of the dreadful reputation that Famac had, she went on to say that she was sorry again and that this was obviously not the kind of service that Next liked to offer and that she would see to it that it was looked into.

Now before I order anything online I shall be checking who they use to deliver, and if it is Famac I will definitely not be buying.
