I know companies lie about not receiving information so is it possible for you to send a copy recorded delivery - or offer that next time they ring you are spot on not paying them over the phone!

Can't help with CCCS never dealt with them but I would say contact them and double check?
  • Some good success stories on here.

I've just started a DMP with CCCS but still have some worries if anyone can help/advise that would be great

    Here goes;
    • Still receiving letters and quite a few phone calls saying they haven't received my financial statements from CCCS therefore they want payments over the phone which I can’t afford and have refused.

    • I have received a letter from Mint acknowledging (not accepting) me entering into a DMP which is good for mint I guess.
    • My money I paid into my CCCS over a week ago hasn't registered on the account. It should have been there on the 1st de cut payments aren’t made until the 25th.
    • MAJOR CONCERN – Mercers Debt Collection send a debt collector to the door. I think they are linked to Barclaycard somehow. I refused to give them my phone number. This one is a real worry.
    • I have included my overdraft in my DMP and have switched accounts, however, my OD fee and interest are due to come out on the 9th. What do I do about this and no doubt there will be further bank charges which I can not afford to pay. I tried o phone CCCS over the weekend but they are closed.
    • Just generally feeling really down bout the whole thing. Maybe because the DMP isn’t in full swings im not feeling the rewards. I don’t know L

All this is really worrying me. Any reassurance would be great.

    Hi debtman.

For those that claim they haven't received statements from CCCS just email CCCS and ask them to send to those persons again. Usually it's just different departments as I know GE Money were hopeless - one department said they weren't going to accept the DMP and they sent that letter AFTER the one from another department saying they agreed the DMP and were stopping interest  Don't panic too much - probably just in another department's in tray - dont' pay them anything extra as it isn't fair on the other people you owe.

An acknowledgement from Mint - wow! Much more than I got from them. They did take about 4 months to stop interest for me so just keep an eye on statements and be patient.

CCCS website seems a little slow to update and show payments. Mine usually show on there about the 9th/10th of the month and then show that they got it about 3rd of the month ;) If you are really worried - just ring them or email them to check.

Sorry can't help with doorstep debt collectors - have missed out on those. But don't give any money, just tell them to contact CCCS.

Try not to worry too much. At the end of this month, when the creditors actually get your "real" money from CCCS, they are likely to quieten down lots. My phone calls etc stopped pretty quickly and hopefully yours will too. ;)

Hi debtman2007 I echo everything that newlywed has said. The payments do take a while to show up on the website. I think your creditors are trying it on by asking for extra payments over the phone. If you cant contact CCCs by phone they are very quick at answering emails generaly just 24hrs. Dont worry too much, I know it is a bit nerve racking at first, but you will feel more calmer soon.

  • I phoned CCCS earlier. My payment was received in good time it just isn't showing on my on-line statement yet.

Had another call from MBNA although this was from the Chester office and were much more polite than the overseas office who phoned this morning. ANyway will see if i get any more calls over the next couple of days and maybe then ask for all correspondence to be by mail. They wanted to know how much i pay into my DMP account but i refused to tell them, hope that was right.

    Hi folks,

Latecomer to this thread. What a friendly and cosy place :A it is on such a cold night (and as a DFW, of course, my thermostat keeps getting turned down!)

I would like to request that 'the powers that be', be so kind as to issue me with a DMP membership number? I like to belong to things!

I have been paying off my 53k  with Payplan for two and a half years now and have just started sharing my experiences with folks on this site.

    Cheers - Orph.

  • Morning all,

Welcome Orpheus, look forward to your posts.

Just had to tell everyone received a letter from MBNA yesterday through post, wasn't looking forward to opening it at all given peoples experiences. Anyway, it was a nice letter confirming that they accept my offer through the DMP for 12 months (to then review) and have stopped all charges and no interest!!!!! I couldn't believe it!!! A great start, lets just hope the rest of them are the same.

I would have told them to contact CCCS or wait for their paperwork. The total amount you pay is fairly irrelevant since it is decided equally between all the creditors depending on how much you owe each. If you told them the whole amount, they might have been under the impression they would get most of it and when CCCS work it out, they may not!

So I think best to leave figures to CCCS unless you have checked how much CCCS say will go to them specifically. :)

SI, that's great news, MBNA are one of mine and still giving my DMC problems. Lloyds who was my bank originally whom I have a loan and OD have accepted for 6 months, mind you I have only made 2 payments on my DMP.

Looks like things are looking up for us all at last! :j Good luck all.
