  • I was a youth worker for a yr once and you are not paid to take everything. I was also a social worker throughout the eighties and there is def. a limit to what you need to put up with. One fairly weak social worker had clients swear at here at times whereas most did not. depends on your personality and attitude to those you work with of course and what your relationships are like. They do need to learn boundaries that is vital. Learn them at home is best. If not then at school and after that they have a very big problem if they don't know where the boundaries are. Can end in court where boundaries/restrictions are then finally imoposed. Anyway not such a bad situation as I had thought for you at least. Lot of patience needed in your line of work so good luck.

    Just keep talking to yourself.

You can do it. You need to do it. It's only letters. It's only numbers.
If you do it then someone else can help you ;)

(But you don't have to do it all at once if you can't face it - I did - wanted it all over and done with).

You WILL feel better when you have done it and phoned PP :D

  • hi,
have taken the dane out for the 2nd time today and am really proud of him.dogs in this part of rainy souf yorks can sleep easy for another day!!!
onamission....please take heart from us oldies here(!) and face the letters.at least you will know what you owe and rem you have now taken command of the situation, and we are all really proud of you.
i always think how much i have saved in a strange way, since the charges stopped(and they will ), if i had carried on robbing one to pay the other ,i would have incurred loads of interest.so the way i see it im saving all the time im on the dmp, iykwim.makes it much better for me to look at this way.
from my recent experiences, i must now get back into positive mode, and believe me, theres a positive thing to be gained in every experience, even the nasty debt ones.but you will see that in a few months when the dmp is up and running and the benefit of hindsight comes along.
ray.....this cheque must be mega, so i hope its in posties bag as we speak.
dr jekyll.....thank you for your lovely post prev.x
    take care everyone.ttfn
    love ilgd xx

We got our PPI back which is around 4k and we are remortaging too so about 3k coming from that but in context our house is in need of major repair, new windows, probably the boiler, guttering and fascias we dont have any you can see into the loft from outside, but the nice non essential bit is getting rid of blue laminate flooring - oh and our garage has an unintentional sky light - ie, hole in the roof! So not mega bucks but mega for us.

I just can't give up work till the mortgage is through which will save us what I earn a month and knock two years off the mortgage too - so sounds bad taking some out on mortgage but we will save more than that by paying it off two years earlier - nearly MSE!

I am so stressed I have a terrible confession - I walked my daughter to school with one shoe on - I need to slap myself up a bit and get things in context - shes in bed now but I feel a right louse :(

ilgd - I do the same - look at how much my interest payments used to be every month, compared to now. No wonder it just kept going upwards!
