Try not to worry TightTone if the DD is cancelled they can't take any money.
Basically all I did was emalled collections@cahoot.com stating it was a formal letter of complaint in big bold letters at the top.
State you are dealing with Payplan and give them your number. You can request them to stop interest and charges and add that they are profiting from your financial situation or something like that. You can also say the debt will be paid more quickly if the interest is stopped.
They are now communicating with their other departments and they are organising for the interest to be stopped.
I'm going to get a default for sure I think but as long as you're not avoiding the situation (which you're clearly not!!) a CCJ or charging order will be less likely. Although I can't be sure of that 100%.
I feel so much better posting on here now. You'll be ok.In debt no more!0 -
Hi Tighttone
I've had a DMP for over a year now, none of the companies I'm with have transferred my debts to a DCA or applied for a CCJ.
I have received defaults from the companies but I was told when I set up my DMP that this would happen.
MDWProud to be dealing with my debts

It's quite amazing really, i'm quite supprised of the lack of communication in a company!! I emailed cahoot about the interest they were charging me and they were unanware that i was with payplan! Well duh! I've lost out on blummin £300 here!!
Thanks to Rayday for the advice on writing to them! Phew, that's a weight lifted off!
Pleased to hear it, good for you.0 -

morning all
and a hello to any newbies starting dmp. It can be really scary at first but once all the paperwork has been sent and phone calls stop it does get better. My calls stopped after about month 2.
I have just paid month 4 of dmp with cccs. I wondered has anyone had positive news from egg. At then begining of august after they defaulted my account they said they would send me to a dca and i would hear in 10 days. I have not heared anything or had any correspondence from dca. I have to let cccs know about any transfers to dca but if egg have not rang me then how can i?
I have had letter from ge sending me to viking services. i RANG them and they just passed me from one dept to another. One of our accounts has gone to mercers and we have not heard anything from them.
Anyway hope everyone is doing okay
take care for now0 -
:rotfl: hi again
i have just rang cccs who advised me to ring egg and viking services.
I rang viking and they rang ge and they have said they will accept the plan and payment. I then rang egg and they said they had defaulted and closed the account however they said they have stopped interest and will be accepting the payments. Hooray!!! Only rbs to sort out as they are still charging full interest of £80 per month. (and lloyds still charging for overdraft )
So positive things do happen on dmp a creditor accepting does make all the difference to your peace of mind. I want to rub all my dmp good luck onto everyone else today. I am now going to write a letter asking them all if they will reimburse all late payment charges since the plan started (do you think i am pushing my luck?) most of them charged £12 late payment fees for 3 months.) even though i paid dmp.
anyway bye for now all

bow
Same thing happened to me with EGG. Got my default and then got a letter to say that my account would be passed to a DCA within 10 days. After about 2 weeks i sent them a secure message asking if the account had been passed over and to who. They replied back that they had not passed my account to a DCA and that they will not be adding interest and late charges and they are accepting the payments from Payplan.
I think this is just how EGG works. Must admit that none of my creditors are adding interest or late charges so what Payplan pay to them each month goes to pay off the debt :T
As for reclaiming charges i did that with First direct who were still charging me for an account that has now been amalgamated into the one first direct account. Got my charges back. You can but try stating that this will help you to reduce your debt to them and pay it off that little bit quicker.
Good luck

I had that with FD. So I rang and said how come you amalgamated the accounts but I'm getting charged on the other account? They said sorry, their error, they will wipe it offworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Egg sent me my default notice about 2 months ago. That's when my debt was passed onto the DCA...........still haven't heard anything??
