Guys, I had to tell you as I'm sure you're the only ones who'll be as happy as I am without thinking I'm mad.

My dad (Chairman of the Head in the Sand, It'll Sort Itself Brigade)'s light is fully on :j He's only got himself (well with a little shove from me :D) a second job!
    Woohoo

Wow sounds like a weight off your mind, but on the down side another SOA :rotfl:

    Seriously pleased to hear it!

    Morning all!

I have just sent off my DMP agreement to CCCS and only just sent my DMP notifications to my creditors so I doubt they will have received them yet.

I cancelled my DD'd online with HSBC last week and yesterday I received a letter from HSBC saying that they were unable to cancel the DD for my loan payment to them until it was fully paid off. My worry is that they will continue to take this loan payment from an already overdrawn account plus charges which will be a result of them taking me overdrawn! <and breathe>

Any suggestions would be gratefully welcomed guys!

    Hi

Any chance (I know its a bit late in the day so to speak) that you can open a new bank account. Then you can close your old one and HSBC will not be able to dip into it as and when they feel like it. If you do you need to make sure it is not affiliated to any of your creditors. Payplan have a list on their site that shows who is attached to who.

    Good luck

I got my credit report today which was mighty quick.

A couple of suprises on there Lloyds have me as a few missed payments a year ok but account status as OK since - strange!

Also there was a problem with a linked address on hubby not sure if after payday I should request histories now and double check it all.
  • Thanks yellowmonkey. I have another current account with Natwest which I am paying my wages into but my problem is that I can't close the current account as theres a £1500 OD on there which I'm currently £150 over so they wont let me close it until its paid off I don't think. As long as the current account is open they will probably continue to tale the DD payments for my loan. I'm not really sure theres much I can do about it as I don't have the funds to pay the OD off.

I had a £1000 O/D with my old account. I was up to the limit with that. What i did was close the account and added the O/D to my debts that i sent to Payplan. I now have that incuded as one of my debts. If you are going to change account try to make sure that it is done in ample time so that your wages can be paid into it. Perhaps contact CCCS and see what they advise

  • I have added the OD debt to my CCCS DMP but can I close the account if I've not paid the OD in full? I didn't think I could?

I already have the Natwest account running, I saw this coming and opened it when I reclaimed my bank charges from HSBC last year. :T

You keep the account open just pay small amounts on it so it becomes more like a debt than a bank account if you get my meaning.
  • Thanks Rayday, thought that's what we had to do but in the meantime it means that HSBC can continue taking my loan payments out and charges although there wont be any money going into the account! Then come the £150 a month charges!

YOu could write a formal letter of complaint to them, state it is a formal letter of complaint.

In it you can say that you are trying to tackle your debts but the actions they are taking are increasing the amount you owe and they are actually profiting from your financial problems, ask them to cease taking payments as there is nothing coming into the account and to refund the current charges, suspend interest and agree to a payment plan, suggest the offered payment so that you can pay them off quicker.

I am sure you can pad it out!
  • hi,
YM and RAYDAY.......great advice as usual.
bad day for me.o/d is really bad this month.can account for why, which makes it even more scarey:eek: .i know im spending money on junk food mainly, but its like i have an angel of logic on one shoulder and a devil on the other shouting "go on, you know you really NEED it!!!!"am so  with myself that i cant get a grip.cant exactly return food and say you have changed your mind, iykwim.only hope something turns up and i dont go over the limit, cos i cant afford the charges and will be in the deep manure:D all over again.think my reasoning behind it is that im thinking the o/d is really money....but i have to pay it back every month and it eats into my h/keeping, cos you can only use it once, not keep using it every month, unless its paid back.hope you know what im getting at:confused:
i really must get a grip on myself...so theres no one to blame but me....and the diet gone to pot, and im putting it on instead of losing it...so thats a good diet ,isnt it:rotfl:
im trying to stay positive but its so hard.i dont deserve sympathy....but please resist the urge to tell me off cos im beating myself up enough for all of us.
hopefully ill return in a better ,more controlled frame of mind tom.
    take care,ilgd xx

ps...suppose i could always rent the dane out:rotfl: .......so if anyone wants any excavating done, im open to offers:D
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)
