Thanks amani. Living within a budget is still tricky for me some months - new exhaust, new lower suspension arm on the car - let alone losing some weight and needing new undies etc - if you get the idea??? ;)

Still think it's just having been away and spent a bit more than expected I'm feeling it a bit this month - and got paid early last month too so seems even worse!! ;)

Will email CCCS and see what they say.

Just rang Great Universal and spoke to a right baggage. She initially took me through security questions then asked if I wanted to pay up - no. Then asked if I wanted my commission to be credited to my account - no. Then asked "well what do you want then??".

So I said I'd had a statement and had a query as no payments had shown up but I'd paid each month since May. She said no, you've paid nothing until 28 August. So I asked where the money had gone and whether they were part of the General Credit Group (CCCS said that's who it is going to). Nope she said you need to speak to CCCS and find out who they paid and why. So I said it had all gone to the same place so how come only one was showing up, how come that one got there when the previous 3 didn't? Not her problem - need to speak to CCCS.

Just as I went to ask another query about my statement she cut me off

So I rang back, got a nice guy, complained about being cut off. He says yes they can see the last 3 payments on screen but may have been more, just he can't see it. That they have received them, and my next statement should show a credit and then the buy now pay Oct item goes on.

He has no idea why the previous woman couldn't see it as it's on the screen (I asked) he answered my other query and then I thanked him for being helpful especially since the previous woman was so very unhelpful!!!

So I think it is sorted out  and the moral is if you speak to a baggage, ring back and hope you get someone else ;)

just a thought, if your phone is the old spinner dial sort (how I loved them the old solid briiinggg briiinggg) it may actually be worth a bit!! Its the sort of thing collectors go mad for particularly if it has a bt plug on it! Not suggesting you should sell it though!!!

Good morning everyone! A beautiful day outside and feeling positive now about sorting out our debts.

Just a quick question - I am filling out our notification of debt management letters to send to our creditors and wondered what everyone put down as their reason for going onto a DMP. Would putting 'financially overstretched' be a good enough reason as I am sure putting 'bl**dy useless with money' wouldn't be suitable!!

    Any advice gratefullt received

  • hi all,
strangely enough, im having same trouble with marshall wards.they must be all the same comp under general credit.took me ages to sort out and ended up they were getting the payments undr my old a/c no.all was going well thern other nite got a right stroppy mare at 8.55pm.ds went ballistic, you can imagine!!!why dont they talk to each other.they claim they dont talk to the other comp and its in the same building and has only one digit different when you fone.have had really bad time with them and its my lowest debt.wish i had made a sep arrangement , in hindsight, cos they are willing to accept the dmp but cos cccs will only pay gen cred instead of paying the catalogue direct, it just gives me so much hassle, and cccs and m/w get as bad as each other, cos both of them wont budge.
    take care all.
btw ym....is there anyway you could reroute a new cable yourself from the original junction box in your house???the extension kits are very cheap and thats what we did.good luck xx
    love ilgd xx

Yeah that's what I thought and what CCCS said. The woman at the catalogue said nope not them!!! Think she just wanted to go home as it was friday - she was a right baggage though.

Weemac - I put overstretched on credit and no-one has queried it at all. So that's fine to put on the forms. Think it must be very common :o

I was tempted to put down about how when I had realised I was overstretched on credit, they had all greatly increased my interest rate and been completely unhelpful until I was stuffed and had no other choice - but went for the overstretched on credit instead!! :rotfl:

  • Amani, we went to the French Alps just south of Geneva. stayed on a caravan site and generally had a very good time. My boys partic. enjoyed it. The older one went paragliding and we three excl. wife also went white water rafting. Nearly got tipped out which was scary momentarily. Also went to Chamonix and saw Mont Blanc. Weather poor for last week of three.

Am having to be very careful now on spending as you can imagine. Probably last hol. with Bob our eldest for a while although you never know. He is off to Australia and New Zealand in Feb. once he has enough money and starts vet college at Nottingham next Sept.

Have you had a holiday? Nice of you to ask by the wayand I hope Halifax ease off you.

  • Morning all

Well things have calmed down a bit at 'Chez Monkey'. The phone is now OK and is re routed to the Kitchen/diner. Saved myself at least £200 there what with BT call out charge and hourly rate:j . Payplan have been in contact and the text was sent in error so payment has been recieved :j .

Just renewed my car insurence online with the AA. They were the cheapest ,surprisingly, and that was without the £70 cashback i have tracking now through Quidco :j .

So far not a bad day. Have work later though. I sometimes, like some of you i suppose, dont really want to go to work but then i think what my situation would be like without a job. Count my blessing's really. Weather lovely down souf again so hope it is the same with you.

    Have a great day
