    Help please please

ok ok, Im being dragged into a horrible mess which to be honest, just isnt my fault.

    I'll explain, me (the son) 29 earnings £23k a year dad 59 £22k a year

The debt, dads credit cards £32ks worth - the house is worth £185k - £195k

The mortgage £153k - this was £135k prior to me going on it 2 years ago, when we remortgaged. I only went on it to save it going to the cleaners then.

Dad simply cannot afford his credit cards any more, he has spoken to payplan and they have worked all the figures out and said theres £175 spare that can be paid to your debts every month.

The problem, they have split the gas water elec etc all in two, I simply cant afford to pay this as i have my own managable debts which leave me with very little each month.

They suggested that I go on the plan, now due to my job i would probably lose it if I went on it, its not something I want to go on at all.

The house is going on the market very soon as theres only two of us living in a large 3 bed detached. so we are going to downsize.

After working figures out , all dad is able to offer to payplan at the moment is £50 a month, will they accept this, or is there a minimum that payplan will accept?

I've to be honest, im in a terrible state, as its been the "family" home for the past 25 years. I know the problems would go away over night if it sold, but at present it just feels as 90% of the problem is not my fault.

Not sleeping, not eating properly, looking like s*** going in to my important job each day and arguing like no tomorrow with my father

    Help please ?????????????

    Hi Matt

I think it may be a good idea to start your own thread with this.

The DMP thread is usually fairly quiet at the weekends and if you start your own thread you will have access to the fantastic support and advice of all the DFW''s, who may be able to help straight away with excellent advice.

I just wanted to say welcome to the forum and offer a bit of support, please try not to worry too much (easier said than done I know!!) there will be lots of invaluable advice coming your way just hang in there!! and well done on seeking help.

    Take Care and keep posting

Agree with teecee, Matt it's probably best to start your own thread with two seperate full SOAs for you and your dad.

ILGD - I have always wanted to go to Alcudia, I'm sure you will have a fab time and a holiday is a great way to stay motivated as it makes the moneysaving struggle seem worth it!

ALLY - Good Luck with the CAB on Monday.:D

Amani - Lovely to hear from you, good to hear all is well!

Hello everyone else hope things are going smoothly for you all.

Hope you are all well,I'm struggling a little at the moment. I have fine tuned my budget as far as I possibly can and I am starting to feel a little deflated.
I can't afford to increase my DMP payments to CCCS and my DFD just seems so far away:eek: I suppose I knew it would be like this but it's just so hard sometimes, I get sick of hearing myself say "Sorry but I can't afford it at the moment" I think I'm just wallowing in self pity and need a good old fashioned kick up the @rse!!

Feel free to oblige anyone !!

Hey, pretty okay, all the outgoings are balanced but the incomings are the problem.

Still the non-DMP debts are looking to be cleared 5 months earlier than planned which is good :)

    How's things with you?

Good to hear things are ok with you.

I'm fine really just a bit down at the moment, can't really put my finger on why:confused: My DMP is running really smoothly, have tweaked just about every outgoing expense as much as I can, and now it just seems like such a long road ahead.
Still at least now I know I will get there eventually!

I wonder if any of you can answer a question for me please... My friend is with Payplan on a DMP and has done her budget based on her monthly income but she does regular overtime and has not told tHem about this extra money... I'm sure they will find out and this is not allowed but she is just ignoring it, getting the extra money every month and not letting them know.. Is there any way they will find out and if they do what will they do?

    Thanks
