    Good morning :hello:

Hope everyone is doing okay. I will have a read through in a bit.

I have been busy doing overtime and selling on Ebay. I'm doing overtime today and have some stuff ending on Ebay tonight so a little bit more to go towards the dreaded "D" word.

Not much happening otherwise. I really must come on here more often as it helps to keep me motivated but the problem is I tend to get addicted to it and don't get any housework done.

Anyway I will have a read through now before I go to work.

    Take care.

    Good news! :T

I was accepted for my Alliance and Leicester current account application already so at least I have a decent account to move to.

Newlywed - I assume that this account is what you got? If so, was the switching of all the direct debits and stuff all easy enough?

So pleased anyway. I wonder if first direct offer me an account as well. I'll probably take that one too!

    Cheers

    Chris

I got a Premier Direct account. Sorry can't help on the switching service as I cancelled all my direct debits myself due to the DMP and then just rang the 3 people that I needed to give them my new details. I cancelled each direct debit two days after it had gone out of my account and then rang them to set up the new one - had no problems this way and it didn't take long as most of me DD's were for credit cards and didn't have to be transferred ;)

Edit: sorry no idea about the mortgage - we rent so I can't help on that one ;)

My day went from weird to bizarre yesterday, been a weird week hubby got a totally out of blue promotion, eldest daughter got good marks in her SATS we are really really proud, middle daughter got mighty maths award at school for best in the year, I got an email to say I had won a competition - David Hasslehoff biography! Then I got a phone call back re the Sunday Telegraph and loan consolidations so this morning spent two hours with a photographer they never told me that when I emailed in - I only wanted the £50!

Well done on the shower, you can come round and DIY here if you like millions of jobs for a budding DIYist!

Morning all hope you are well.

Lovely day down souf today but spoiled by the spectre of work this afternoon. Really busy as well. We have the Tour de France traffic returning back to France today as well as their supporters. Normally we deal with this OK but all the bigwigs have got involved and are coming in to interfere. Wonder if its the fact that the BBC are filming it ;) .

Never know i may be on TV seeing as we have a tabloid celebrity amongst us ( rayday2 ). Congrats on that i even looked at the Telegraph online but could not find the article so if you find it can you post the link so i can have a read. Well done on all your other good news as well.

Hope you all have a great Sunday and enjoy the weather and good luck to Lewis Hamilton in the British grand prix.

Thats it really. Quite on the financial front so nothing to report there

    Au Revoir

You have all been so busy and your lives seem so exciting - mine is totally humdrum in comparison - hilight of my day today bathing my 9 month old border collie (he supposed to be white and black - but half an hour in the garden with a leaky hose and he's more brown and black now and very smelly - just think Afghan coats from the 70's and how they smelled when wet - eugh)! So what with media celebrities and tour de france big wigs and ILGD as the next Tommy I'm just sad ...!!!lol.
Can't remember if I mentioned it but my claim for charges from Abbey was denied so I'm about to begin proceeding via FO and see where that gets us - if I'm lucky it my be sorted by Xmas!! HSBC started ringing re PL again wish they would just default it and be done with it they are doing my head in!
Hope you're all enjoying the good weather. love and hugs to you all

    Hi guys :hello:

Can't remember the last time I said hello, which is disgraceful. Sorry for that - there were several reasons going from being a GCSE marker so literally not having a minute to do anything apart from that when I'm not at school, trying to bury my head in the DMP sand and convince myself that as long as I was making my DMP payment each month, I was going to try and forget that I was on a DMP, as the thought of the 14+ years was getting down and constantly being on here kept reminding me of it. Then this morning I realised that I've been very selfish as you guys helped me so much at the start of the year and it was wrong of me to just disappear (not that it was planned that way, you know what I mean).

So, I hope everyone is well and hello to all the newcomers. I've got no chance of catching up with the posts, but I have been thinking of you all over the past few weeks.

I'm in a bit of a quandry (is that a word?!). I really want to change career which means going back to uni and starting all over again by doing another 4 year degree. I've worked out with student loans that I could just manage it if I was made a halls warden. This includes paying my current DMP amount. But am I being irresponsible? Should I stay in teacher so I can be sensible and get my life back on track? Or is it okay to start a fresh? Oh, I just don't know what is best!! I'm starting to think that I can't let money dictate my life. I will still be a DFW, doing all the correct money-saving things, but I hate feeling tied into a career I'm not "into" just because of money. Sorry for blabbing on - I haven't spokent to anyone about this yet, as I'm concerned my school will find out.

Apart from that... things are okay. Worn out completely, looking forward to the holidays. Any gossip from this camp? Any more childhood sweets remembered? Would you have prefered Chanelle to go on Fri? Any exciting DFW scandals?!

Well, sorry again for disappearing. It's nice to be back :T

    Cheerie- bye for now,

Nice to hear from you - the club has grown with many new members - but still all doing the same old - getting through, supporting each other, having a laff etc, etc....!!! If you can do the degree then I'd say go for it ... I'm 42 and only started my degree last year and I'm loving it ... oh and I passed my first year too ... oh and I've stopped smoking too (nearly 2 weeks yay)!!! Glad things are good with you ... don't know where the old gang are haven't heard from Joek, 95kelly, etc for ages.
    love and hugs
